Catching Rabbit has just been submitted to Cornwall Film Festival!! 🤞

Catching Rabbit is a surreal, darkly comic community film rooted in the landscape and culture of The Lizard.

Made by LAFTA against the odds on a teeny budget, the film was brought to life through a true spirit of collaboration and creative ingenuity.

Written by Tamara Rosenwyn and adapted from her award-winning play, the film follows Rabbit, an elderly Cornish man in a care home, as fragments of his life return to him.

Catching Rabbit explores ageing, madness and being haunted by the things we could not save. At its heart is a man increasingly at risk of being forgotten, set against a changing Cornwall.

It is a love letter to The Lizard, its people, its stories and a way of life held in memory.

Cornwall's creative scene is GURT LUSH and I'm so proud to be part of it!!!

A life in writing and performance has more ups and downs than a pot-holed Cornish road, so I'm just going to strap in and enjoy the ride, wherever it ends up!

This week we wrapped production on Catching Rabbit, completing our final day of filming and recording voice over!
Now it’s over to our champ editor, some incredibly talented musicians and an A* colour grader, to weave it all together and add the final touches! ✨

Catching Rabbit 🐇

Austen and Kaia were absolutely fantastic! Naturals on camera and a joy to work with.

A huge thank you to Ben for his brilliant camera work, Kay for nailing sound (with stand-in "Boom Babe" Lance!), Sara for sharing her expertise with child performers, and Gill for taking the props to the next level!

So grateful to everyone for bringing such great energy to the day, and a special thank you to Kay for hosting and to her neighbour for letting us use their beautiful field.

Such a fun scene to shoot! Martin (aka Nutty Noah) had everyone in stitches. The team did a great job to capture his and Jamie’s performance, navigating the challenges of filming in a car!
