🚨 MAJOR INCIDENT NEAR RAF FAIRFORD

Several men have been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act after a major incident was declared near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.

Homes in the nearby Whelford area have been evacuated while the Army’s specialist explosive ordnance disposal team examines a number of vehicles. Police say the incident is currently contained.

IS BREXIT TO BLAME FOR CHANNEL CROSSINGS?

The Prime Minister has argued that Brexit reduced cooperation with European neighbours, making it harder to tackle Channel crossings. The Conservatives have rejected that explanation.

The debate comes after 781 people crossed the Channel in 10 boats in a single day in September — the highest daily total recorded in 2026 so far. However, overall crossings this year remain below the same point in 2025.
