***BRAIDED TIME***

An exhibition of new works by Claudia Platzer

We’re pleased to announce our first show of the year… this one has been in the pipeline for a while so we’re super excited!!

PV Thursday 14/05 6pm
Open until 18/05

Claudia is a Sydney born, Liverpool based artist working across drawing, collage and photography.

Through field-note drawings and collected fragments she builds layered works tracing what slowing down and walking reveals; spirals, loops and crossings surfacing across natural growth, collective memory and the structure of space time.

***Footnotes Closing Party Postponed***

We’ve had to make the decision to postpone our closing event this Thursday 26th June.

This is due to circumstances beyond our control. Apologies for this of you that we’re planning on heading down.

More positively SLIPSTREAM opens 1st July with a closing event Friday 4th July.

JOSH N JILL - ONE MILLION YEARS B.C



Our first ever show at our old Victoria St space. Feel like only a few months ago. The artists presented work made in collaboration during their visit to the canary island of Lanzarote in 2014.

It’s been such a pleasure to watch their careers and work develop and grow over the years. Their dedication to art making is truly inspirational and their passion for supporting the arts is unparalleled ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

🔥🔥🔥 NEW LOGO WHO DIS 🔥🔥🔥

Valentina Passerini .passe has created our shiny new logo to mark the start of the build up to Liverpool Independents Biennial 25

Valentina’s work deals with photography as object making and with independent publishing as an expansion of exhibition space with a potential for collaboration and research. She is interested in community-based & DIY collaborative practise, working as a freelance creative in many areas.

Valentina has been a CBS member since March last year and she’s been a an amazing contributor to the studio!! Many thanks to Vali for the hours spent teaming and editing 🙏🙏

Studio Available!

We’re sad to see leaving us 😢 It’s been a pleasure having you in the studios!

This means his space is up for grabs from 1st August.

It’s £90pm with Wi-Fi and bills included. We are housed within a secure unit with 24H access.

Members benefit from access to our workshop and are encouraged to make use of the gallery space and assist with our public programme.

***After a long hiatus we’re back with an event!***

Coming up, an evening of performances from a few of our studio members &

**Suggested donation £4**

Taking place in our communal studios, this first iteration of these intimate & informal performances give an insight into the practise of the artists in their own space.

We’ve jumped over a fair few hurdles recently to keep CBS afloat, whilst we are reaching some sort of stability we still need very much need fundraising help from events like these to be able to finish the studio renovations.

*Something that unfortunately hasn’t changed…our studios are only accessible via several flights of stairs*

Studios Available!

From September we will have 2 spaces up for grabs, one @ £100pm and a smaller space @£80pm

Our studios provide a social environment for artists with various practises to work. Wi-Fi, bills & rates all included, secure 24h access along with use of our workshop and tools.

Members are also encouraged to make use of the gallery space and assist us with our public programme.

Next up …

Paula Kolar] & present an ongoing body of works with performances

PV - Thursday 27th 6 - 10pm

Reading Slippages, Writing Interstices is an exhibition by Biba Cole and Paula Kolar showing new works in progress. Acts of articulation, reading, and making are highlighted as they explore different interstices, in-between spaces that are constantly in motion. Each exploring two very different coastal landscapes, they do so by actively making and intervening in the space or playing with collections of leftover remnants from the making process. Moving through sound, video, performance, painting, drawing, and print, material slips through the gaps.

Biba Cole (UK) is an artist and musician currently based in The Hague (NL). Swimming in pools of excess material, she examines slippages from known languages through practices of falling and sidetracking, positioning mistakes as positive generative actions.

Paula Kolar (Austria) is an artist and curator currently based in Liverpool (UK). Playing on a beach of discarded material, she collects bits of past sense through photography, (sound) recording, drawing, and writing. Paula Kolar]
