Teacup Commission, Freelancer Social & a Show

Are you a Freelance Artist or Theatre Maker in the North West? Join us on Thursday 28th May for our Teacup Commission and Freelancer Social from 6pm at

- Watch the live pitches for Teacup Commission where 5 local theatre makers will share their ideas.
- Then have your vote for the winner who will receive £400 for their project.
- Meet new collaborators, share your ideas and practice with local theatre makers in a chilled out networking event.
- Afterwards, stay to watch Our Public House on the Cockpit Stage from 7pm.
All attendees can book a £7 ticket to the show!

Teacup Commission is now open for applications, the winner will be decided by a live vote at our pitch event at Shakespeare North Playhouse 6-7pm 28th May.

⭐️Head to paperworktheatre.co.uk (link in bio) fill in the short form and upload a 1 minute video of you talking about your idea by Friday 22nd May at 5pm.

⭐️We’ll pick our 5 favourite ideas and invite those artists to pitch live on Thursday 28th May at Shakespeare North Playhouse.

⭐️The winner will be decided by a vote on the night and win £400.

⭐️Calling all female creatives: RISE UP Summer Term is now open for applications⭐️

Across a term of weekly sessions you will:
🔹Meet new friends and collaborators, developing confidence whilst building a network of peers
🔹Work as part of an ensemble to develop your performance and acting skills.
🔹Work with a professional Director and team of Creatives to create and rehearse a devised performance
🔹Perform at for a live audience in the Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden on Friday 31st July.

It’s open to women aged 18+ with an interest in the performing arts We will recruit a mix of existing and new members with a wide range of ages, experiences and backgrounds. Sessions are led by professional female creatives from the North West.

The course is free to attend thanks to kind support from Lottery Community Fund.

Each term of RISE UP we host a free headshot session for the cast with - and the pics do not disappoint!

For some it’s just a lovely momento from the project, or a chance to feel empowered. For others, it’s a brilliant resource to use on future projects or castings.

Teacup Commission Round 10 will be opening soon thanks to all of your kind donations!

If you’re a local artist/company, with a great creative idea that could use some ££ to help it get going, keep an eye on our socials in the coming weeks for information about how you can pitch to win it!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated. This is a rolling fund, so if you’ve been meaning to donate and haven’t yet had the chance- check out our KOFI page and pop a couple of quid in the cup to help support new creative ideas.
