THIS WEEK AT UNITY 🧨

Join us Thursday-Saturday for the conclusion to our project with two incredible performances.

🫵Stage Left: Created in-house at the Unity, this new performance dives into the theatre’s bold and rebellious past. From its roots as Merseyside Left Theatre in the 1930s to the vibrant creative home we inhabit today, A Radical Reimagining brings decades of radical storytelling roaring back to life.

🤝Young Radicals: ‘Please Make it Hopeful!’ is a passionate and fearless physical ensemble performance devised by young people who are taking the stage to expose the struggles of their times and ask the urgent questions of tomorrow.

Tickets for Thursday performances are now running VERY low. 🎟️🏃‍♀️

Thursday 4th — Saturday 6th June

6–6.30pm, 6.45–7.15pm (& Sat matinee 1.15-1.45)

‘Please Make it Hopeful!’ is a passionate and fearless physical ensemble performance devised by young people who are taking the stage to expose the struggles of their times and ask the urgent questions of tomorrow.

The piece moves through a series of vivid snapshots of young people’s day to day lives as they try to build a future in the here and now. The piece holds up a mirror to the daily anxieties in a society that often feels fractured, individualistic, and devoid of empathy. It captures the heavy, suffocating sensation of a future that feels futile, before a collective breakthrough that defies despair, demonstrating their fierce belief that hope is a radical form of resistance.

Inspired by the legacy of Unity’s Merseyside Left Theatre, 19 young creatives have been working together over 10 weekly sessions to devise a piece that reflects their worries, vision, urgent matters of the present, and expectations for the future. The project has been facilitated and directed by Grace Gallagher and Mariana Pires

Meet the cast behind Don’t Touch My Stuff! 🛍️

Thursday 25th June | 7:30pm

Two siblings. Two bedrooms. Two very different people.

Alice and Isaac are siblings. They’ve always shared a very thin bedroom wall, but as Alice leaves for university, childhood bickering turns into something far more complicated.

First relationships. Questionable life choices. Identity crises at 1am….and somehow growing up together, even while apart.

Alice - Esmé White ( )
Isaac - Tommy Long ( )
Phoebe - Ella Niblett ( )
Chloe - Francesca Hill ( )
