We've had a lot of great feedback from the MAZ Creatives event on Saturday in Lark Lane, Liverpool. Thank you everyone for being part of it. You can see more art from the exhibiting artists in our gallery in Mersey Arts Zone in the Floral Pavillion in New Brighton, where we are based.

There was tables for families to get creative together on the day, the artists exhibiting and visiting joined in too. All that art is now up in the MAZ Kids Gallery in the Floral Pavillion. Well done everyone, one little artist of the future, Wilf aged 7, did a great drawing of a Liver Bird. We'll keep you posted of future events here and on the M.A.Z. page.

It was a 6.30am start this morning and off to Lark Lane in Liverpool for our first Maz Creatives event. Thank you to Marcus for his inspiration, Johnny for being on the door, Michael for being a great assistant throughout the day. Thanks to the Old Police Station for providing a great venue for the artists and all the new local artists who visited and were made up to see what can be done to get their artwork to the public.

There was a great flow of visitors and the young ones enjoyed creating art for me to exhibit in the MAZ Kids Gallery back in The Floral in New Brighton. Thanks everyone for all your support x

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at the Old Police Station in Lark Lane, Liverpool. We will be there from 10am to 4pm. There will be seven M.A.Z. artists at the exhibition selling their artwork in person. You are welcome to come and chat with them about their art. M.A.Z Gallery will be there with artwork from eight of their artists and are happy to chat about their work.

Dawn the Artistic Director from M.A.Z. will be there if you want to discuss your artwork and how you get involved with MAZ Creatives for our next event. If you want to exhibit in the M.A.Z. Gallery in the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on the promenade, come along and have a chat. If you are looking for some advice and support with your art, you're most welcome to come and see us.

Our next artist with the MAZ Creatives at Lark Lane, Liverpool, is Olena Kosheva.

Olena Kosheva is a Ukrainian-born, UK-based artist working in watercolour and mixed media. Her paintings celebrate emotion, light, and the quiet poetry of everyday life — from radiant still lifes to expressive portraits and botanical forms. Blending precision with
spontaneity, Olena creates works that invite reflection and joy. Alongside her studio practice, she leads workshops and creative experiences that help others reconnect with their
confidence and creative spirit. Her art and teaching share the same purpose — to inspire beauty, curiosity, and emotional connection. Olena’s works are held in private collections across the UK and Europe.

Our next artist studied graphic design and grew up with a love of maps and music. Martin Jiang created his well known Music Maps and will be at the MAZ Creatives event in Lark Lane, Liverpool. Martin will discuss his love of music and how his music map designs were created.

Our next artist who will be exhibiting their artwork on Saturday in Lark Lane, Liverpool, is Neil Whitehead. Neil's artwork will be of his pixelated series and industrial artwork. Neil is also a musician and is looking forward to meeting you all.

MAZ Creatives has been a long time coming. I wanted to pull together local creatives to support each other in Mersey Arts Zone. Marcus GJ Cotton who supports and exhibits his work in MAZ, was given the opportunity to hire The Old Police Station in Lark Lane, Liverpool. We then decided to do a pop up event to bring artists together to exhibit and sell their work in this space, so that their followers could come and meet them. Our first artist you will meet on Saturday is Marcus GJ Cotton.
