❤️ We LOVE our new art-K Smithdown Studio!! ❤️

It has been the most heartwarming start to the week seeing my students and parents (and passers by!) reactions to our expansion! Our new studio is wonderful! 🥳

We can’t believe how much space we have, and how much more room there is for creating art and making friends!

🧑‍🎨 I’m Hiring! 👨‍🎨

I’m advertising a new role for an Art Assistant to work specifically in my Wednesday evening Weekly Adult Art Classes.

Ideally you are a practicing artist who has an existing knowledge in:
🔴Colour theory
🟢Mixing paints
🔵Beginner techniques such as blending in watercolours and acrylics, sketching skills and perspective.

✏️ Full training will be provided!

🫟 We’re expanding! Brand-new studio, right next door! 🚪

I’m thrilled to announce that art-K Smithdown is moving to a larger, more spacious studio, just next door at 288 Smithdown Road! ☀️

With my move-in date on 1st June, watch as I shuffle my creative studio into its new premises and witness a new window display come to life! 🎨

What does this mean for my current customers?

⭕️ No logistical changes for you – just a few footsteps further to my new front door.
🔵 A bigger studio for your child/children to enjoy!
⭕️ More wall space for exhibitions throughout the year, so your children can be artists both in practice and on display!
🔵 Room for pushchairs to fit in at pick-up! 🎉
⭕️ Lovely large windows with natural light, where you can take a peek at our classes in action.
🔵 Lots more exciting classes popping up soon!

🎨 Last week at art-K Smithdown looked like… 🎨

What a treat to the eyes to look back at last week’s children’s art classes! With projects going home and others continuing their craft for another week to come!

Students are enjoying their drawing, painting, clay and mixed media, with some wonderful papier-mâché sculptures in progress too!! 🐍✏️

I love my mixed aged classes, week by week I see friendships form and positivity and kindness spread! Students are always complimenting each other’s progress and celebrating finishing projects. 🥰

With 8 weeks of the Summer Term left, there is still plenty of time to book a Trial class. Classes are filling up, don’t miss out! 🎨

🐹 Swipe for a surprise! 🧜‍♀️

We spent a lot of time at art-K drawing from 3D objects, as it is a wonderful challenge to see a 3D object and understand the lines and curvature needed in a sketch book to capture it in 2D. ✍️ It’s rather tricky!

After a few weeks of drawing animals, students combine their creature together to create their own ideas. ⭐

Although a mermaid was not in my animal box collection, this student asked to combine a hamster and a mermaid. She designed it then created it in clay. Isn’t it fantastic!! 🤩

There is still time to join my Weekly Art Classes, with classes after school and at weekends Tuesdays to Saturday. 🎨

🎨 Don’t forget to book a May Half Term Holiday Workshop! 🎨

It’s a great week or two to have your child or children be creative. Art is relaxing, calm and stimulating! 🌟

There will be projects available to pick on the day in watercolours, acrylics, clay, mixed media and more.

Sessions are 2 hours or 5 hours long. The full day 5 hour session has a one hour lunch break with art games - please provide a packed lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day. 🍪

Sessions are led by me, Bella! I am a qualified art teacher and artist! 👩‍🎨 My studio is Ofsted regulated, a calm and happy place for all, and did you know that I can accept Childcare Vouchers too? 🌼

🎨 Thank you Christ The King Primary School for inviting me back for my second visit to run an Edgar Degas inspired figure drawing and movement class! 💃

Here are lots of drawings and works in progress from the two Year 4 classes. 👏

Drawing a figure is really challenging, and the students at were enthusiastic, determined and creative. Well done!

⭐ We focused on drawing a figure in 3 steps, to draw a stick figure, add shapes, then personalise. All students had the opportunity to strike a pose and be drawn by their partner before designing their own pose and using oil pastels.

⭐ Artwork of the Week! ⭐

The smile says it all! A very proud student with her first ever art-K project to take home today. She has learnt how to group clan together for strength, roll out clay to the correct thickness, cut out her fish shape and stamp in patterns. Then also to paint into all the creases. 🐠

After a Trial class, we work on longer term projects, to build up skills at each individuals own pace. No pressure, no rush, just enjoyment and learning. 🎨

🐻 May Half Term Holiday Workshops are live! 🐻

With half day (2 hours) and full day (5 hours) workshops available on selected dated throughout the 2 week half term here in Liverpool, there is so much fun to be had!

🗓️ 23rd May - 5th June.

For ages 6-16 years old, your child will be able to choose a project in any medium, and have a fantastic session being guided by me to design, create and complete a 2 hour or 4 hour project!

🎨 Please note that for a full day session, students must bring their own packed lunch.
🍪 Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day!
