Happy Birthday to Curt Smith, the third 80s icon turning 65 in just ten days, after Boy George and Alison Moyet. One half of Tears for Fears and the voice behind some of the defining pop anthems of the decade. I've got an extra soft spot for him too as a fellow Bath lad from the city I called home for most of my adult life before moving to the Wirral. Big birthday SHOUT out to Curt! 🥳🎉🎂

Happy 65th birthday to the incredible Alison Moyet, the second 80s icon hitting the big 6‑5 this week after Boy George. One of the greatest voices of the era, and I can’t wait to see her in Liverpool this October performing those glorious synth‑soaked Yazoo classics. Counting down the days already... 🎹😀

I’m thrilled to finally share a bit more about my brand new collection, 80s Lipstick Legends. This series celebrates the powerhouse women who helped shape the sound, fashion and spirit of the decade. Think attitude, colour, and the kind of iconic glamour only the 80s could deliver.

The first two paintings in the collection are already complete and will be on exclusive show in my open studio this weekend as part of the Wirral Art & Wirral Open Studio Tour. They’re the very first pieces to be revealed, and seeing them in person is a whole different experience...the scale, the details, the colour. Let me know in the comments who you would like to see me include in this collection.

Love the beautifully signed print that’s come with my latest vinyl purchase from Synthpop supergroup Doublespeak, featuring Neil Arthur (Blancmange), Vince Clarke (Erasure, Yazoo, Depeche Mode) and synth producer Benge. Definitely gonna have to get this one framed and added to my gallery wall 👌
