Yay Wirral we can't wait 🫶💙
YOU TOLD US… AND WE LISTENED 💛🌈
Our first Sensory Fest in June was honestly incredible. We cried so many happy tears reading your messages afterwards and hearing what the day meant to your families. 🥹
But we also listened to the things that didn’t quite work — and we promised ourselves that Sensory Fest would keep learning and improving.
So, for Sensory Fest: Take Two, we’ve made some small but really important changes 👇
🎟️ GETTING THROUGH THE GATES
We know a queue formed before the gates opened last time, and for some of our children, waiting in a queue can be really difficult.
This time we’ll have even more stewards scanning tickets, so once the session begins, we’re aiming to have everyone through the gates within just a few minutes.
Please don’t feel you need to arrive early. Arriving at your session start time should mean a much quicker entry.
And this bit is really important…
💛 If your child becomes dysregulated while waiting, come straight to the front and tell one of our stewards.
No explanations needed.
No judgement.
No staring.
No problem.
We’ll simply get you in.
We know the other families around you will get it too. This is a SEND event, created with SEND families in mind. ❤️
🔉 WE’VE TURNED THE VOLUME DOWN!
We loved seeing so many children enjoying the low-level entertainment with Mr Tumble Liverpool, but we absolutely agreed with your feedback that the stage music was still a little louder than we wanted it to be.
So we’ve changed the sound set-up.
This time, the main stage volume will be significantly lower, making the area around Mr Tumble Liverpool much more comfortable for children who want to get close, interact and enjoy the entertainment.
Instead of trying to create atmosphere from one louder stage speaker, we’ll have more smaller speakers positioned around the event, playing gentle, whimsical background music at a low level. 🎶✨
That means atmosphere throughout the festival — without one area needing to be loud.
These might sound like small changes, but for our families, we know they can make a huge difference.
Sensory Fest will never be about us deciding what SEND families need.
It’s about listening to you
