Calling all plucky poets and poetry lovers! The last 'WORDS WORDS WORDS' of the year will take place on Tuesday December 5th, 7.30pm at !

This time, our wordsmiths will perform pieces inspired by:

-'Nighthawks' by Edward Hopper
-'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues
-The phrase, "Home is where the heart is."
-Object: Mistletoe
-Feeling: Warmth

On a white Christmas Eve in heaven, singing sensation Bing Crosby (yes, Bing Crosby!) introduces three darkly comic yuletide tales, each by a different writer...

In 'Joy!' by Hannah Roze Lewis , a lonely cleaner makes the best of a Christmas spent with only her mops for company. In 'The Night Before' by Daniel McCreanor, two apocalypse survivors have their faith tested on Christmas Eve, 2049. And in Daniel Sean Henry's 'Santa Paws', a hapless garden centre employee sees a chance to step into Santa's shoes...

'COMPETENT CHRISTMAS CRACKERS' is the first ever Christmas anthology show from Competent Productions. Featuring a varied selection of brand-new pieces and a sprinkling of Crosby crooning, this unique fringe theatre offering will be sure to make your day both merry AND bright!

"Christmas Crackers will bring together three unique writers for three very different festive plays, tied together with Yuletide silliness and songs. Calling all scary movie maniacs! This month's COMPETENT QUIZ NIGHT will be a spine-tingling evening of chin-rubbing trivia, covering all your horror movie favourites...

So if you're a Freddy fanatic, a child of Chucky or just looking for an excuse to Get Out... this is the Quiz Night for you!

There'll be a MINIMUM £50 cash jackpot prize. The more players we have, the bigger the jackpot - at our Simpsons Quiz, we gave away a whopping £104! Plus, bonus prizes, button badges and a bloody delicious themed cocktail for the occasion!

// ADEQUATELY AMUSING IS BACK! //

Alright, calm down, you desperate clowns. Dan McCreanor's open mic for funny folk is finally back!

Designed to give comics of any experience a chance to flex their funny muscles, this event is the rough-and-ready underdog of the Liverpool comedy scene.

The next night will take.place on:

There will then be shows every two weeks until December 8th, so you can chuckle all the way up to Christmas...

We can't wait to bring another cromulent evening of yellow-tinged trivia to Arts Bar Hope Street! Last time, we only covered seasons 1-12 of the show. This time, the questioning will span the entire run so far PLUS the movie, video games and more!
