What a year for our Youth Company ❤️🎶

Over the past few weeks, we've seen nearly 400 young musicians, aged 7–21, take to the stage across four end-of-year celebratory concerts.

Playing everything from Saint-Saëns' organ symphony to ABBA, John Williams and RAYE, the concerts showcased the remarkable talent of our young musicians across a whole spectrum of music.

Highlights from the year included:
🎻 performing alongside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Proms
🎺 performing at the Labour Party Conference
🎸collaborating with LIMF Academy artists in the Music Room and multiple appearances on our own stage

Congratulations to all our young musicians - we couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved, and we can't wait to see where your musical journeys take you next.

★★★★☆ Bachtrack & A Youngish Perspective
"Petrenko played it just right."

Our Orchestral season came to a rip-roaring close on Thursday evening with the return of Vasily Petrenko and Johan Dalene for the concert White Nights. Celebrating his 50th birthday, Vasily lit up the stage with an ode to music from his home country and Italian summer evenings.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in our 25/26 Season. We can not wait to welcome you back for more fantastic performances in 26/27 - see you then!

After over 20 years of service to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, our consultant Artistic Director Andrew Cornall will be stepping down from his role.

Andrew leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, and has been pivotal in revitalising our artistic policies, presenting eclectic and bold programmes and enhancing the Orchestra's national and international profile for the past two decades. He was instrumental in the appointment of our Chief Conductors Domingo Hindoyan in 2021 and Vasily Petrenko in 2006, who he joined onstage yesterday at the fantastic finale of our 25/26 Season featuring our former Young Artist in Residence Johan Dalene.

On his time at the Philharmonic, Andrew said:
"It has been an honour and privilege to work with so many creative people to shape our artistic ambition and deliver it to our wonderful Liverpool audiences and beyond. I am taking a step back with a sense of pride at the collective contributions of so many to making great music in the beautiful Liverpool Philharmonic Hall."

Please join us in celebrating Andrew and all he has done for the organisation!

Happy Birthday to our Conductor Laureate Vasily Petrenko 🎂

As ever, he’s hard at work ahead of our White Nights concert this Thursday but that won’t stop us raising our glasses in celebration later today 🥂
