Some new additions to the puppet library. Both are recommendations I saw online and a quick leaf through them makes them look like they'll be invaluable. Both I snapped up second hand online in almost perfect nick for a negligible amount of groats.
The first is "Winker Mechanics Can Be Fun?!?" By Michael Brose. I saw it recommended by and he makes very sexy puppets so can be thoroughly relied on for a good recommendation.
The second is "The Essential Guide to Mold Making & Slip Casting" by Andrew Martin. This was recommended by and he makes very sexy molds. He makes incredibly sexy mugs too but it was molds I was primarily interested in because my molds are... Functional. Yes, that's the most complimentary word I can use for my plaster molds. I mean they work but they lack panache. His whole mold making process is well worth watching over on his YouTube channel. What are you waiting for? Go and watch it... Go on...

Got a new light for my sculpting/painting desk area. Finally making things more fit for purpose. Plus prepping for a mask making workshop tomorrow by sharpening the 40+ pencils in my emergency supplies kit in case the school kids turn up for an art & design based workshop without a pencil. Happens all the time. Yes, I've got rulers too. And 30 pairs of blunt school scissors, left and right handed.

Out collecting medpacks, discovered a lone survivor surrounded by zombies

Thank you New Canton runner 38, I will wear these trousers and erm... sports bra I picked up on my travels after your death to honour you. And due to the nature of your sacrifice and Sam Yao's black humour you will no longer be a number, you will forever be known as Ace Rimmer. Smoke me a Kipper, Buddy, I'll be... What's that?! An unlocked radio transmitter for our arch-nemesis New Canton? YOINK! Bloody havin' that!

Finally put some rack shelves up in the office. Incredibly hard to photograph because of the layout of the office, with my drawing board forming a sort of half- height partition wall across the middle. Here's hoping it makes the place less of a disaster area. Only one way to find out, all of the junk I moved out is going back in tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Prepping for a talk on puppets and puppetry at a local primary school tomorrow. I've done a similar talk before and still have the rough script for that but I thought I'd trawl the puppet library for some extra tasty informational nuggets.

New book for the puppet library, "Puppetry and Puppets" by Eileen Blumenthal. Thanks to the inestimable for the recommendation. Going to dig into it over the weekend for a talk I'm giving at a school on Monday.

Rewarded mightily after hearing Sam's new plans for his mission

I had to do skipping sets today. Yup skipping. Not Rocky Balboa skipping but about to skip down Whoopi Goldberg's path and say, "UuuuuuuWiiiilderness Girls!" Outside her door (points if you get that reference). And let me tell you, skipping is HARD! Guess I should have made better use of that "Skipping Lane" next to us at Chester Zoo, eh, and ?

Saved Runner 6 again and got more intel on our disappearing cook

I've done this one twice before but it felt a bit harder today. Possibly because I messed up the route I had been taking and ended up doing more uphill than is the norm. Finished another week nevertheless. Also Runner 6 is a du***ss.

Overheard some juicy details about my real mission here at Abel

Anfield in the haze of the morning, lovely. Also there's something heartwarming about being fulsomely encouraged by two jolly, portly old men on a park bench, well into their second can of Carlsberg Special Brew at 9.10 am.

Warning Spoilers:

A quick example today of how immersive Zombies! Run! can be through your headphones.

S: Does Runner 5 look a bit... Thoughtful to you today?
D: That's just the concentration we expect from all our runners.
S: Good job I didn't become a runner then. Some days I can hardly string together a... a... Ooh, is that a squirrel?

And I looked! I bloody looked! 😁
