I’m retiring from studio ownership, passing the baton on to ...
I couldn’t be leaving the studio in better hands. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these ladies from the very beginning of their pole journey, and watch them exceed my own abilities. This is the greatest achievement a teacher dares to dream of. I’ve caught them a few times over the years; because they were trying a new move and they asked me to. They have caught me many times, supported me through two studio moves, my pregnancy and much more.
I’m terrified to step out of my comfort zone. I’ve only ever really known pole. But I have big faith in the catching abilities of people and the universe.
I’ve been cloud spotting, concocting, planning and dreaming; and I’m looking forward to what the next chapter of my life might look like. I love teaching too much to stop, so after a month off, I’ll be taking workshops and clinics, and I’m toying with becoming a group pole choreography consultant. (Too niche? Probably). But largely focusing on new projects as I get my kid settled into big school, and get on top of my recent RA diagnosis.
So on Friday, our official exchange date, I will be raising a glass to the people. To everyone I have ever taught. To the teachers I have worked with. Every performer in every show. To the people I have hurt. The people I have helped. Thank you for being on this journey with me.
