Let’s talk warms ups!

I’ve always used my warm ups to prepare the students for what is being taught in the lesson. 💪

A lot of my concepts can be found in our The Latin Barre Method courses. The latin barres 1-4 have exercises at the barre that help students prepare their bodies for the latin fundamentals.

When I’m not using the barre concepts I like to use the following figures:

⭐️Rumba walks-forward and backwards
⭐️timesteps-Rumba and cha
⭐️walks and locks in Cha
⭐️paso walks(these often get neglected)
⭐️cucarachas

One of my main missions with the The Latin Barre Method is to help teachers, latin ballroom and other styles, to teach latin technique by breaking down the concepts in easy to follow steps. No over complicating it and giving real tips that will see immediate improvement in your students. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I always say to my students “it’s not rocket science” but by applying theses concepts and putting in the hardwork you will be creating amazing dancers who don’t just “dance steps” but really understand technique.💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼

I have used my training in ballet, modern and stage to break latin down so it’s not “the style hardly anyone knows about” and EVERY dancer/teacher can learn.

Lots of dancers/teachers I’ve met over my 38 years in the dance industry think it’s a completely different world and often feel they can’t train in this style if they didn’t train as a child. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Well I’m here to tell you YOU can! 💪💪💪💪💪

I‘ve broken it down by giving you easy to follow tutorials on actions that are the most important when dancing latin.

Clare I really struggle dancing drunken sailors in jive, or how do I get my students to straighten their legs in cha cha, how do I teach Cuban breaks with Correct technique.🙏🏼

✅More and more teachers are wanting to add latin to their teaching
✅more and more professional dancers are needing to be trained in latin to secure their next dance contract
✅more and more trainee teachers are realising you need more practical tips than just knowing technique book inside out
✅more and more teachers are needing more than just their private lessons to get the knowledge required to teach complete beginners
✅more and more social dancers are wanting to compete and so need so much more technical training
✅more and more is the latin world needing to up their game compared to the ballet world when it comes to in depth training

Guys don’t be left behind! Knowledge is power! I’m not reinventing the wheel here I’m just trying to make latin more accessible to more dancers/teachers🥰🥰🥰
