Introducing A Space For Us!

A Space For Us explores the Welcoming and Belonging of Disabled people in cultural venues across Liverpool City Region.

As part of this project, Tip Tray are working with a number of cultural venues across the Liverpool City Region to improve accessibility and make their spaces more welcoming. A Space For Us explores what belonging means to Disabled people and how cultural venues can create environments where Disabled people feel welcomed and valued.

Alongside this, we are creating helpful resources, producing a report of our findings, and working with four Disabled artists through seed commissions to creatively explore these themes and share their perspectives and experiences.

Reminder: Applications for our Seed Commissions are open until 21st August 2026!

As part of an upcoming project, we are focusing on the themes of ‘welcoming’ and ‘belonging’ for Disabled people. We are looking for 3 Disabled artists based in the Liverpool City Region to creativley respond to these themes.

This seed commission is open to any artform. Artists will receive £1000, plus £695 for personal access costs. If you require a BSL interpreter, additional funds are available.

📢Amplify Young Leaders: A year-long programme for Disabled young people who want to develop their leadership skills and influence the future of the arts. Young Leaders will help shape Tip Tray Theatre and the wider Amplify programme, receive leadership training, gain experience working alongside cultural organisations and build the confidence, knowledge and networks needed to become future leaders in the sector.

We spent last week at Shakespeare North Playhouse, researching and developing a new piece of theatre by and for young people.

We had a boss week of discovery, play and conversation. A great time spent with an amazing team of creatives.

A huge thanks to Shakespeare North Playhouse for their support on this R&D through their Origin8 programme.

We are looking for six Disabled people aged 16-30 to join our Amplify Young Leaders programme: a year-long programme for Disabled young people who want to develop their leadership skills and influence the future of the arts.

Each Young Leader will receive £30 per session to support with travel costs and expenses.

As part of a new project, we are commissioning three Disabled artists based in the Liverpool City Region to creatively respond to the themes of welcoming and belonging for Disabled people.

We’re inviting applications from creatives working in any art form or medium.

Each commissioned artist will receive:

We're asking Disabled audiences, artists, creatives, volunteers and staff to share their experiences of cultural venues across the Liverpool City Region.

Your experiences (positive or negative) will help shape a new project exploring welcoming, accessibility and belonging.

The survey takes around 10–15 minutes to complete.

Introducing Amplify!⭐

We're incredibly excited to launch Amplify: a new disabled-led programme from Tip Tray Theatre, supporting Disabled young people aged 16–30 across the Liverpool City Region to build confidence, develop creative skills and create lasting pathways into careers in the arts.

As part of Amplify, we're launching two exciting opportunities:

🎭Amplify Training Company: A 9 month creative residency for Disabled young people who want to develop their performance skills and gain experience working in the creative industries. Participants will work alongside professional Disabled and underrepresented artists, develop skills in performance, learn about working in the arts and collaboratively create an original performance to showcase to industry professionals and public audiences.

📢Amplify Young Leaders: A year-long programme for Disabled young people who want to develop their leadership skills and influence the future of the arts. Young Leaders will help shape Tip Tray Theatre and the wider Amplify programme, receive leadership training, gain experience working alongside cultural organisations and build the confidence, knowledge and networks needed to become future leaders in the sector.

Amplify is for anyone aged 18-30 who identifies as Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodiverse.

Amplify is supported by Youth Music's Shift the Scene Fund, Shakespeare North Playhouse and Liverpool Culture Network.
