So today have had 3 really not very nice messages off potential weddings for 2027 and 2028, I won't name or show messages as don't want to embarrass them, but i try and explain what your paying for and all i get back is
"THAT'S WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, I CAN GET A DJ FOR LESS THAN THAT"
The answer is yes you will get a DJ for under £200, But these DJ's are not TRULY PROFESSIONAL WEDDING ENTERTAINERS, like alot of us put so much time, effort, money wnd much more, you wanna know what and why your paying more, I will tell you below, GET READY!
🎧 WHAT DOES YOUR DJ FEE ACTUALLY PAY FOR? 🎧
When you book a DJ for your wedding, birthday, party or special celebration, you’re not simply paying for the hours they spend behind the decks.
There is a lot more work involved than many people realise.
For a typical 5-hour event, your DJ can easily spend 8+ hours working on your event on the day alone.
🎶 BEFORE YOUR EVENT
Your Wedding DJ has already invested time and money into:
• Keeping their music collection professionally updated
• Preparing playlists and taking your requests
• Checking and maintaining their equipment
• Replacing worn, damaged or faulty equipment when necessary
• Ensuring lighting, sound and microphones are ready to go
• Maintaining suitable professional clothing
• Paying for insurance and safety testing
• Fuel and vehicle costs to get to and from your venue
🚗 ON THE DAY
Your DJ doesn't simply turn up at your start time.
There is usually:
⏰ Travel to your venue
🔊 Unloading and carrying equipment
🎛️ Setting up the sound and lighting system
🎤 Testing equipment and levels
🎶 Preparing your music for the evening
💃 Performing for your agreed hours

And when the last song has played, OUR JOB ISN'T FINIAHED THERE!
🔧 Equipment has to be switched off and packed away.
📦 Everything has to be dismantled, loaded safely back into the vehicle and checked.
🚗 Then there is the journey home.
For many DJs, that can mean being away from home for 8+ hours or more for a single event.
