East Preston Christmas Celebrations

East Preston Christmas Celebrations Celebrating Christmas with stalls, events, Father Christmas, funfair, active local businesses, carol singing. Fireworks display at 5pm Hope to see you there.

This is a day to celebrate Christmas. Starting at noon with local businesses getting together to promote what they do, stalls inside and outside the Village Hall. We also have a funfair and charity stalls outside. Fun for children includes visiting Father Christmas and lantern making. Cafes and bars will be open offering sumptuous delights all day and some into the evening. We aim to have a proces

sion around 4.45pm with children and Father Christmas taking the lanterns from the north end of the village to the south. There will be carol singing by the Village Green and a finale firework display. Organised by East Preston Parish Council & supported by local businesses and villagers.

📢 Important Update: Angmering @ Christmas 📢

Unfortunately, due to the forecast of rain and high winds, tomorrow’s Angmering @ Christmas event has been cancelled.
Your safety is our top priority, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

What’s still happening?
Our village eateries, pubs, and bars remain open—why not book a meal or drop in for a drink?
Fiona J Rose Art Gallery will be open with refreshments and a wonderful Christmas art exhibition featuring several talented artists.
Butlers Pantry will also be open with festive treats.
If any other shops decide to open, we’ll let you know.

New Date for Festivities:
We’re moving several elements of the event to Angmering Community Centre on 19 December 2025, from 7–9 PM.
Expect:
✅ Market stalls
✅ Fun fair rides and side stalls
✅ Face painting
✅ Father Christmas!
✅ Grand Raffle
(More may be added later.)

Raffle tickets are available from the office until the event.

Regrettably, we have again had to take the decision to cancel fireworks scheduled for the village.

The BBC weather forecast is still showing rain all afternoon and winds blowing at over 40mph.

It is simply not safe to hold a fireworks display. Similarly, there will be no children's procession.

HOWEVER, all indoors activities will still be taking place. Lots of stalls are set up at the Village Hall, Father Christmas will be reading stories in the hall at Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Vermont Drive - showings at 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00, some tickets available on the door, and there will be other children's activities available in the cricket pavilion on the Warren Recreation Ground.
