Well, you know I'm a sucker for ceramics!
Pic 1: Flyer for AGT venue 20, exhibition and sale of paintings and ceramics by the acclaimed potter Derek Davies (1926- 2008). Shows a green triangular dish which I recognised as almost identical to one of mine, though marked Coldstone and made by Dieter Kunzman, probably around the same time, 1960s.
Pic 2: Background story of D.D's career. His son Josse tells how the kiln regularly belched out black smoke, leading to the fire service turning up at their door!
Pic 3: Purchase of small, cylindrical pot made by Derek Davies, who seems to have been quite a character.
Pic 4: Small, blue tube pot made by Derek Handley who turns out beautiful, inexpensive pieces at no. 13, one of my favourite venues.

What a busy week at Arundel Gallery Trail, and my thanks to Jonny's Arundel for generously hosting our varied artworks.
Must particularly thank the hard-working staff who at times were run off their feet, not only putting up with us but the Trail visitors wandering through to view our efforts, including regular supporters and friends - always great to see you all!
Last but not least, gratitude to those behind the scenes whose diligence makes it all happen.

Our Duck Race takes place tomorrow on Bank Holiday Monday at approx. 4.15pm šŸ¤

The online purchase of your Duck Race tickets closes at 12pm on Monday 31st, however we will be selling tickets for the ducks in person from 10am tomorrow at the Arundel Festival of the Arts stand in Jubilee Gardens.

It's going to be heaving here in Arundel, providing the weekend weather doesn't deter! So allow plenty of time for your journey - today was bad enough (Littlehampton - Arundel), also town access will be limited due to all of the Festival events going on.
But if it rains, there are 38 Arundel Gallery Trail venues, some hosting multiple artists/crafters, in which to take shelter - come and see eight of us at venue 24, Jonny's Arundel in High Street, and have a bite to eat while you're here!

Time off today for chores before seeing some other venues and acquaintances along Arundel Gallery Trail.
Must mention Josse Davies (venue 20/Maltravers Street) as I'm a sucker for ceramics, and here we have not only his own superb pieces, but a retrospective exhibition of paintings and pottery by his late father, Derek (a bit of a character according to Josse) whose work achieved international acclaim. Don't let me loose!!!

A buzzy, busy start to Arundel Festival, including visitors to venues on Arundel Gallery Trail, including ours (no.24 at Jonny's Arundel, up the High St and just past Tarrant St, also on left hand side.
While Jonny's is a resturant, all Trail visitors are welcome to browse our mix of paintings, ceramics and sculptures FREE OF CHARGE.
While the grub's good, there's no obligation to buy food or drink, also diners will be aware of Trailsters... just come along, meet the artists, view our works and enjoy the ambience!
