Yes, that's right - £7,000. That glorious Sunflower number is the total that the Teylu Theatre Company production of Calendar Girls has raised for our brilliant partner charity, the Plymouth Radiotherapy Development Fund running under the Plymouth Hospitals Charity. This amazing amount of money would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, advertisers, bakers, lottery prize donators, crocheter/knitters, supporters of all kinds and all of our incredible audiences. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Not quite enough for a new wing but certainly enough to make a little difference to the patient and relatives' experience in the Radiotherapy department at Derriford. Great news for fans of The Buns. After a rip-roaringly successful appearance in Calendar Girls, we are delighted to announce that they have secured a lead role in the upcoming Launceston Youth Music Theatre production of Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods. Coming to the glorious setting of Sterts Arts and Environmental Centre in late August, the tricky and brilliant musical will be performed by some of our most talented local youth, accompanied by live music (and, of course, The Buns). Thank you Launceston! A packed crowd at a hot Launceston Town Hall laughed and cried with our Calendar Girls as the merry pings of government wildfire alerts filled the air during our final performance. Thank you to the tech team who put us in the spotlight and plunged us into darkness to protect our modesty! To the great gang who designed, built, transported and dismantled the set. To everyone from Team Teylu who baked buns, dispensed drinks, sold raffle tickets and looked after our audiences. To our brilliant director Oksana Wroath. And of course to our amazing cast - new friendships have been made and old ones strengthened during an empowering experience which we’ll never forget.

It’s nearly time for the final curtain! What an exhilarating and emotional ride it’s been for the Calendar Girls cast and crew. We’ve rehearsed through several heatwaves at the wonderful Boost House in Liskeard, promoted the show at Liskeard Town Hall and Liskeard Show and raised money for the Radiotherapy Development Fund Plymouth Hospitals Charity at Trevallick's Farm shop & Tea room and at our gala shows at Sterts Arts and Environmental Centre. Hundreds of people have come to see us at Sterts, Devonport Playhouse Plymouth Theatre Company and Tavistock Town Hall and given us standing ovations. We’ve been on the TV and radio and in the local press - thank you to all of the media who have told our story. We finish with our biggest audience yet at Launceston Town Hall on Friday (two tickets left last time we looked!) Thank you and see you on Friday 🌻

This is Zac. Zac is traumatised because he left it too late to get tickets for the sold out show of Calendar Girls in Tavistock. Luckily for Zac we have extended the seating in Launceston Town Hall and currently there are 30 chances (seats) remaining before he has missed the opportunity to see this funny, moving and uplifting show forever. Don't be a Zac, get your tickets before it is too late...link in the comments or via [email protected]

Of course, this is actually a photo from the play. Zac brilliantly plays Lawrence, the young photographer on the Calendar shoot. He is indeed traumatised but if you want to know by what......you need to get your hands on one of those last tickets.

Thank you Tavistock! Another full house at the beautiful Tavistock Town Hall and another standing ovation. We loved it and hope you did too. On to our final show at Launceston Town Hall next Friday 14th August. Tickets have been selling like hot buns so we’ve had a look at our sightlines (important in this show!) and worked with the venue and a few more have been released. The link is in the comments 🌻

Tomorrow we head to Tavistock Town Hall for another sold-out performance of Calendar Girls, beautifully directed by Oksana Wroath. There will be cakes and bakes (of course) and more brilliant raffle prizes as we continue to raise money for the Radiotherapy Development Fund Plymouth Hospitals Charity. If you want to join the hundreds of people who have already laughed, cried and even cheered during this wonderful production you have just one chance left at Launceston Town Hall on Friday 14th August - 18 tickets left! *****Update.. Tavistock is now SOLD OUT***** Thank you to everyone who made our Calendar Girls Gala day such a success. We are still fundraising at our final 2 shows. We have 5 tickets left for Tavistock Town Hall on Friday and a few more for Launceston Town Hall on Friday 14th. Our beautiful brooches have been restocked, we have some glorious raffle prizes and we could do with some more baked goods for selling. If you can help, please get in touch via [email protected] or comment below. We look forward to sharing our fund raising total for Plymouth Hospitals Charity at the end of the run.
