💉Piercing Correction💉
✨ NEEDLE > GUN. Every time. ✨
A little ear-piercing education because I see this way too often…
This lovely client came to me with an existing lobe piercing that had been done with a piercing gun. The placement was far too low and noticeably off-centre, which meant it wasn’t giving her the shape or balance she wanted and with the placement being so low, it also left very little tissue supporting the jewellery.
So we decided to correct it and give her a much better placement doing her firsts and seconds🤍
This is exactly why proper consultation and needle piercing matter.
A professional needle piercing allows me to:
• Carefully assess the anatomy before piercing
• Choose the safest and most flattering placement
• Mark and check the position before making the piercing
• Create a clean, controlled channel through the tissue
• Select appropriate, high-quality jewellery for the fresh piercing
Piercing guns are designed to force blunt jewellery through tissue using pressure, rather than creating a controlled piercing channel with a sterile, single-use needle. They also don’t allow the same level of anatomical assessment and precision that you get from a professional piercer.
And once a piercing is in the wrong place, it isn’t always something you can simply “fix” by changing the jewellery. Sometimes the best option is to let it heal and start again in a better position.
Your ears deserve more than a quick pop and a guess at placement. 🫶🏼
Always choose a trained piercer who understands anatomy, placement, jewellery and aftercare.
