Flow in the Forest 2026 - Important Update

It's with a heavy heart that we are really sorry to announce that Flow in the Forest will not be able to proceed this September at Waldringfield, Near Woodbridge.

Due to the exceptionally dry conditions over the course of this summer, the continued Government’s wildfire warning and the continuing persistent wildfire risk associated with running fire activities in East Suffolk, we cannot responsibly proceed with the event in its intended form while meeting the necessary safety, insurance and licensing requirements.

Fire is fundamental to Flow in the Forest, and removing it would materially change the event people booked to attend.

The good news is that this is absolutely not the end.

We have already secured Bradmoor Wood for Flow in the Forest 2027, and hopefully beyond. All 2026 tickets can be transferred in full to next year. We would be enormously grateful to anyone happy to roll their ticket over.

With the event so close, a lot of money has already been outlaid on venues, contractors, infrastructure and other services. We’ve been incredibly lucky that a number of our suppliers have offered to roll bookings and deposits over into 2027 rather than us losing them completely.

We also want to say a huge thank you to the tutors, performers, traders, bands, suppliers and others who have already chosen to stick with us and come back next year. That support means a lot and puts us in a much stronger position for 2027.

However, anyone who would prefer a refund will be entitled to request one. We are currently working closely with our insurers on the practical arrangements and will publish the refund process as soon as it is finalised. Please hold off sending individual refund requests just yet so we can manage them consistently and no body gets missed.

We have also very kindly been offered a small woodland in Essex where around 35 existing ticket holders only can gather over the weekend.

This is completely free and is not a replacement for the festival: there will be no live stages or organised fire space, but there will be woodland, LED spinning, friends and a quiet beach nearby. There is also a campsite across the road for those who want to come along but do not currently hold a ticket for Flow in the Forest.

More details about this will follow over the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us and continues to support us. It really means a lot to all of us.

We’re gutted not to be seeing you at Flow in the Forest this September, but we’re looking forward to seeing many of you in Essex in a couple of weeks, and bringing Flow in the Forest back properly at Bradmoor Woods in 2027. ❤️🔥🌲

Important Announcement:

Flow in the Forest is currently planned to go ahead as scheduled. Given the exceptionally dry conditions this summer, we are carrying out additional site and fire-safety assessments to make sure the venue remains suitable for the event, working closely with the local authority licensing, environmental protection, local police and county council fire services.

We have another site inspection on Monday and are continuing to monitor the weather and ground conditions closely. Safety of our community and care of the venue come first, and we will update everyone promptly if anything changes.

Until this assessment has been completed early next week, we will not be actively promoting on social media, but there is lots of information already on our website.

Flow in the Forest 2025 — our review is here!

So way back, in December and January we released our feedback forms and have spent time as a team reflecting on what went well, what didn't work out how we expected and ways to improve.

When we set out to build Flow in the Forest, we promised a community gathering for fire and flow arts built on learning, creativity and care. The first year showed us the heart of that is real, and it also showed us, very clearly, where we have work to do.

We've now published our full public review and learning report. It's not a highlight reel. It includes the things people loved and the things that frustrated them, in their own words, alongside every number from the feedback forms.

We've been honest about what didn't work: programme and timetable communication, accessible toilets, the visibility of our medical and welfare provision, fire-space systems, and how much rested on too few people.

We've also set out exactly what we're changing for next time.

To everyone who shared feedback, good and hard to hear: thank you. It's how this gets better. We've taken a lot of time reading all of it, and re-reading it again and our door stays open.

🔥 Trader applications are now open for Flow in the Forest 2026 🔥

We’re looking for independent traders, makers, artists and small creative businesses to join our trading area this September.

We’d love to hear from people selling things like handmade clothing, upcycled festival wear, jewellery, props, art, crafts, wellbeing items, accessories, beautiful oddities, practical festival bits, and anything that feels connected to the world of flow, fire, circus, creativity and community.

Flow in the Forest is not a normal festival marketplace. We’re a grassroots participatory event built around workshops, performances, skill-sharing, fire practice, music, creativity and shared experience. We want the trading area to feel like part of that world — playful, thoughtful, useful, colourful and full of personality.

Pitches are curated, and we’re keeping the trading area small enough that it feels special rather than overcrowded.

🔥 Workshops by day. Fire circles by night. Forest magic all weekend. 🔥

Flow in the Forest is a gathering for the UK flow arts community — bringing together movement, creativity, music, performance and connection beneath the trees.

Whether you’re completely new or already deep into the world of flow arts, there’ll be space to learn, practice and play, and almost every single one of the 50+ workshops that will be hosted at this years Flow in the Forest 2026 is included in the cost of your ticket. Fab right?

Expect sessions in:

✨ Intricate hoop combos ✨ Bending with the Earth: floorwork to breathwork ✨ Fly Pole: unique contact points ✨ Double staff ✨ Contact juggling ✨ Poi, staff & hoop ✨ Fire safety and professional practice ✨ Movement, choreography & flow technique ✨ Aerial & circus arts ✨ Maker workshops & crafting sessions ✨ AND wellbeing area and workshops

And much more still to be announced soon…

🧵 SpinningYarns crafting space returns for 2026, bringing hands-on creativity back into the forest alongside an expanded programme of prop making, crafts and maker workshops.

🔥 Every single day we will also be running a dedicated beginner / newcomer / neurodiverse-friendly fire session.

These sessions are designed to create a calmer, more supportive environment for people who may feel overwhelmed by large crowds or public performance pressure.

No spectators will be permitted during these sessions, just a safe and welcoming space to learn, ask questions, build confidence and explore fire arts at your own pace.

As night falls, the forest transforms with fire circles, live music, DJs, performances, wellbeing spaces, hot tubs, sauna and late-night jams beneath the trees.

Expect four days of workshops, community, nature, music and unforgettable nights around the fire.

Volunteer applications for Flow in the Forest 2026 (take two) are now officially live. 🔥🌲

Before anything else, we also want to acknowledge and apologise for the delays some people have experienced regarding volunteer deposit returns and communication over the past months.

Behind the scenes, the volunteers that make Flow in the Forest happen have been working hard to improve our systems and infrastructure for 2026.

This has included redevelopment work on the website to better support applications, volunteering and festival processes moving forwards, alongside a number of wider administrative and operational improvements behind the scenes.

Some of these administrative and operational processes have taken considerably longer than anticipated, which has unfortunately contributed to delays in returning volunteer deposits.

We know communication around this has not been as clear or timely as it should have been, and for that we sincerely apologise.

Ideally, we would have liked to have returned deposits, and offered returning volunteers discounted tickets or volunteering opportunities for 2026, much earlier this year.

While there have been genuine logistical reasons for the delays, we completely understand the frustration this has caused for some people and apologise.

We want to reassure everyone affected that emails will be going out throughout this week and weekend to resolve this properly with you directly.

Thank you all so much for your continued patience, understanding and support while we work through it.

Last year, Flow in the Forest only happened because an incredible group of people came together to create something special. Volunteers, performers, instructors, artists, musicians and attendees all helped shape four unforgettable days in a field filled with creativity, kindness, learning and connection. Every single person who attended contributed to the atmosphere that made the event what it was, and we remain deeply grateful for that.

With that in mind, volunteer applications for Flow in the Forest 2026 are now officially live.

As we continue building and improving the festival, we’re looking for passionate, friendly and reliable people who want to help create something truly special in the woods once again.

Whether you helped last year or are completely new to the community, we’d love to hear from you.

🔥 Workshop support
🔥 Stewarding & site support
🔥 Build & break crew
🔥 Fire space support

In the next round in June, we will be looking for:

🔥 Welfare & community care
🔥 Environmental & recycling team
🔥 And more…

Flow in the Forest has always been built collaboratively by the people within it, and we’re excited to continue growing that together in 2026.
