Hello All, 👋 I've been quiet here for a while and in a contemplative mood, lately. January has been tricky to navigate, and here we are in February already, and it's no different so far.
I've been thinking about how I want this year ahead to look, and I've decided that it should be quiet, that I should find sanctuary in the studio, when life allows, without pressure to experiment and play. The outside world is noisy and uncertain and chaotic. It's a bit much!
Anyway, I thought my original linocut print of Lincoln Cathedral, titled 'Finding Sanctuary', went rather well with my thoughts of late, so here it is. I'm having so much fun selecting papers with interesting textures for my collage art. All these colourful pieces of paper were created by cleaning my inky print making tools.
The swirly dark blue marks on the paper I chose for the background simply cried out for a small boat battling the waves on a stormy sea.
