The three words of the day? Talented, generous and kind — all of them describing the wonderful Vic from

Vic has just delivered her gorgeous new range of mini handmade cards, and honestly, she’s done it again. Using humble pie tins and scraps of fabric, she’s somehow transformed odds and ends into tiny works of art. The woman clearly possesses some sort of creative magic.

But she didn’t just arrive with new stock. Oh no. She also turned up with freshly picked strawberries from her allotment just around the corner. Because apparently being talented wasn’t enough.

Vic is a stockist, a customer, an allotment queen, a small business owner, my neighbour, and one of those genuinely lovely humans who makes our little community such a special place.

Thank you, Vic. You’re an absolute star. ❤️

Well, this doesn’t happen often… a less is more window display! 💙

To be fair, that’s how every display starts around here. I carefully place a few lovely things in the window, then think, “Ooh, just one more item…” followed by another… and another… until the whole thing is practically bursting out onto the pavement.

But not today!

Today we’re embracing a Keeping It Cool in Blue theme. Think pretty drinking vessels, adorable mini crochet Converse, denim shorts, dreamy dresses, and just enough summer vibes to make you forget you’re melting.

And if you happen to spot the shutters down later, don’t panic—we haven’t gone anywhere! I’m simply doing my best to keep the shop cool for our customers, our makers, our vintage treasures, and most importantly… knitting night tonight. Nobody needs sweaty yarn. 💙

Pop by and admire my rare display of restraint while it lasts!

Musical chairs has struck again, and honestly… the shop is thriving on it.

This morning we’ve been flitting about like we’re being paid in glitter and good intentions. Sparkly jewellery has been promoted to prime real estate by the window because, quite frankly, it deserves to shine in actual sunshine. The wax melts have been carefully relocated deeper into the shop where they can chill out properly until they’re summoned for duty in a burner.

Closer to the door now: the ceramic flowers, cacti and toadstools, all ready to greet you like they run the place (because, let’s be honest, they kind of do). Bright fabric accessories have had a full restock moment, knits are back in their cosy glory, and needle cases have joined the lineup like they were always meant to be here.

And then the real show-off moment… silver rings made from vintage spoons have just landed. Yes, they’re as fabulous as they sound. And yes, I absolutely did try them all on immediately. Research purposes, obviously. I do take my love of vintage silver very seriously.

Happy Summer Solstice from Happisburgh Lighthouse! ☀️

You may know I’m Finnish, and apparently we are the happiest people in the world. I like to think there’s a healthy dose of happy Finnish blood running through my veins because, truth be told, I’m usually pretty happy wherever I am.

But Happisburgh? Happisburgh has taken my happiness cup and filled it right to the brim… then kept pouring.

A stunning lighthouse.
An endless beach.
Highland cows in the next field.
Wild deer darting through the countryside.
Hundreds of butterflies and bumble bees.
Birdsong everywhere.
Sunshine from morning till evening.
But it’s the sounds of waves that filling my heart.

Then there was the Scandi-style cabin. I cried when I walked in. It instantly transported me back to the endless happy summer holidays of my childhood at our family cabin by a lake in Finland. For a moment, I was back there again: long summer days, nature all around, and not a care in the world.

And just when I thought this day couldn’t get any better…

I got my Summer Solstice swim in beneath blue skies and sunshine. As a Finn, a midsummer swim feels less like a choice and more like a sacred duty.

Then I walked back up from the beach and an ice cream van was waiting for me. As one does on Midsummer’s Day, I wandered across a field, heard live music floating through the air, followed the sound, and accidentally found myself at The Hill House Solstice Beer Festival.

I mean… honestly.

For a last-minute trip fuelled entirely by midsummer FOMO, this is an outrageous level of perfection.

So here I am, knitting a scarf I’ve been dreaming about, eating ice cream, listening to live music, swimming in the sea, reliving childhood memories, and feeling ridiculously grateful for this little corner of Norfolk.

My Finnish happiness levels are usually pretty high.

Today they’re absolutely overflowing.

Hyvää Juhannusta and Happy Summer Solstice!

✨ Meet Paula of ! ✨

Chainmaille, alternative jewellery, and unapologetically badass accessories made by hand.

Paula is the creative force behind PV Bootique, a Lincoln-based maker, mum, and lifelong jewellery lover who finally decided to stop dreaming and start making. It may have taken 30 years to find the courage, but we’re very glad she did!

Inspired by years of admiring beautiful jewellery with a budget that didn’t quite match the wishlist, Paula created PV Bootique with one mission: making unique, alternative jewellery that looks amazing without costing the earth.

Every single piece is handcrafted by Paula herself, from the first sketch to the final jump ring. In fact, she’s usually thinking about her next design before she’s even finished the current one. Eat. Sleep. Create. Repeat.

Whether you’re after something a little gothic, a little alternative, or just something that makes you feel like the main character, Paula has you covered.

Pop in and have a browse:

Feeling blue? We’ve got just the cure. 💙

A gorgeous collection of blue-toned handmade treasures has just landed in the shop, featuring stunning prints and cards of The Steep Hill and Lincoln Cathedral by Paul Johnston, beautifully painted miniature landscape cards by Jill Pearce, and the sweetest hand-stitched hares by CD.

From striking skylines to countryside charm, these makers have absolutely nailed those calm, dreamy blue vibes. Perfect for gifting, framing, posting, or simply treating yourself because sometimes that’s reason enough.

Pop in and see them before they hop, fly, or wander off to their new homes. 💙

STOP SCROLLING. 🇫🇮✨

Our window has had a midsummer makeover and honestly, we’re a little bit obsessed.

Inspired by Finnish Juhannus (Summer Solstice), we’ve created our own lakeside scene using what we do best: making do, thrifting, crafting and a healthy dose of imagination.

Look closely and you’ll find dreamy macramé catching the midsummer light, woodland scenes, shimmering lakes made from glass, a tiny campfire gathering of stone folk, handmade candlelight and treasures washed up from the shore.

In Finland, there’s a midsummer tradition of picking seven different flowers and placing them under your pillow to dream of your future love. We didn’t have seven matching flowers, but we did have seven beautiful dream catchers. So, in true thrift-and-craft-shop fashion, we improvised. Same midsummer magic, just our way.

Nothing fancy.
Nothing bought as a matching set.
Just creativity, community and the magic that happens when crafters get carried away.

The midnight sun may be 1,000 miles away, but we’ve brought a little piece of Finnish midsummer to the shop window.

Pop by, have a nosey and see how many little details you can spot. We guarantee you’ll notice something different every time you look.

And if you happen to leave with a new craft project, a handmade gift or a second-hand treasure… well, that’s just midsummer magic. ✨
