👀 A little peek behind the scenes…

This is a screenshot straight from our choir leader’s notes; the ever-growing list of songs we’re rehearsing (and about to start!). 🎶

Let’s just say… the playlist is stacked.
We’re talking pop anthems, a sprinkle of Eurovision, a dash of classic legends, and some seriously powerful voices.

Safe to say, rehearsals are sounding pretty incredible right now. 💜

🌈 No other way to say it… we were Born This Way.

Last night at rehearsal we finally tackled a Born This Way moment… and honestly, was there ever any doubt which Lady Gaga song we’d choose? 🌈🎶

In true OUTLoud style, everyone worked incredibly hard and managed to learn the entire song in just one rehearsal.

There’s still a little polishing to do, but it’s already sounding fantastic; big harmonies, big energy, and a message that means so much to our choir.

We can’t wait to keep building it over the next few rehearsals. 💜✨

🚨LADY GAGA🚨

At Monday’s rehearsal we’ll be singing a song by the one and only Lady Gaga… and it’s something we’ve never done before. 👀✨

That’s right! Somehow, in all our rehearsals and concerts so far, we’ve never sung a Gaga song. Shocking, we know.

So now it’s time to change that.

But which one will it be?

A powerhouse ballad?
A dancefloor anthem?
Or a pop classic you can’t help but sing along to?

Last night, we crossed a major OUTLoud milestone… 😏🎶

We took a look at “Does Your Mother Know”, our very first ABBA song! Yes, you read that right. Despite our Choir Leader’s well-known stance on ABBA, the moment finally arrived.

So the big question is… can he be convinced to do more? 👀

Musically, it was a joy:
🎵 The Altos finally had the tune (and owned it)
🎸 The Baritones transformed into bass guitars and brought the power
✨ The Sopranos let their hair down and went absolutely wild

We’re not saying it converted him… but we’re also not NOT saying that.

💚 Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week 💚

As Aro Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate aromantic people and the many different ways love, connection and community can look.

Being aromantic is a valid and important part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. It reminds us that romantic attraction isn’t a requirement for a full, joyful or meaningful life, and that friendship, chosen family, creativity and self-connection are just as powerful.

At OUTLoud Lincoln, we believe there’s no single way to belong. You are valued for who you are, not who you love or how you love.

To our aromantic members, friends and supporters: you are seen, you are respected, and you are very much part of our choir. 🎶🌈

There’s something really special about singing Shenandoah.
This beautiful American folk song moves between unison and harmony, giving us space to listen, blend and breathe together.

Since recently expanding into SAB voicing, this was a perfect chance to explore more traditional choral writing, shaping sound, balance and connection across the choir. But don’t worry… we’re still very happy singing camp classics too. 🪩

This choral exercise was created by our Choir Leader, David Andrew Warman, especially for OUTLoud Lincoln, and we loved getting stuck into it. 🎶🌈

🌈 LGBT+ History Month 🌈

LGBT+ History Month is about celebrating our stories, our resilience, and the spaces where we get to show up fully as ourselves.

OUTLoud Lincoln was created to be one of those spaces: a place where voices are heard, identities are celebrated, and people can connect through music without having to explain who they are. Since forming, we’ve seen friendships grow, confidence blossom, and members find joy, pride and belonging through singing together.

For many of us, this choir isn’t just about music. It’s about being visible. It’s about community. It’s about standing together and saying we are here, and we always have been.

This LGBT+ History Month, we’re proud to honour the past, sing in the present, and keep building a future where everyone’s voice matters. 🎶💜

🎶 Tomorrow is our final Newbie Night of the season! 🎶

And what better way to celebrate than by diving into a medley of Beatles songs? ✨

It’s been an incredible few weeks welcoming so many new faces, and we’re finishing this run in true OUTLoud style; big harmonies, great music and plenty of joy.
