Lincoln Book Festival is an annual literary festival which connects audiences of all ages and interests with some of the UK's best-loved fiction and non-fiction writers. The festival is based in the historic city of Lincoln in the East Midlands region of England. Events include intimate talks, readings, discussions and Q&As with contributions from acclaimed writers, academics, cultural commentator

s and public figures. The festival has a focus on history writing and historical fiction, alongside an increasingly diverse range of genres and formats that appeals to a variety of ages and interests. It is organised and managed by the Lincoln Book Festival Trust, a not-for-profit organisation which relies on the support of local business and volunteers to plan and deliver the festival.

For all you book lovers who just can't wait until October! Have a look at the programme for the 10th birthday of our friends over at Newark Book Festival from 9th-12th July

Filled to the brim with books, markets, animated shows, crafts, baking for Paddington's birthday and headliners including Jay McGuiness and Harriet Tyce.

🎉 Flash Fiction competition NOW OPEN! 🎉

📝 Love writing, love your hobbies? Then why not join in with our 2026 Flash Fiction competition, which celebrates The National Year of Reading.

We are inviting all budding authors to write a short 50-word story.

👉 Age categories are:
- Primary (Reception to Year 6)
– Secondary (Year 7 to Year 13)
– Adult (18+ with no upper age limit)

⏱ Deadline: 24 August Midnight
