Hi Everyone Singing For The Mind is mainly conducted in Care Homes and Community Settings . Of course this cannot happen at present. If any Activity Co-ordinators could help me with operating their care home television with Face Book I could deliver a sing session to you ONLINE Please let me know if this is something you would try for the residents.? I miss everyone in the care homes and hope things will soon change.
I hope you are all singing at some point in your day and you all had a great time yesterday for VE day. I had my bunting up and tea in the garden listening to Vera Lynn- The White Cliffs of Dover and We'll meet again etc. TTFNx

Sometimes singing unaccompanied is great and the song can be sung at whatever speed is right for the group . It is always wonderful to see the participants fully engaged with the music and playing the instruments to the beat. Brilliant . One lady just started singing Edelweiss so we all sang that together .
A man who was looking round a care home came through the lounge and started dancing to the music . Oh so brilliant to see.

Hi I have been to sing with people in the community today . A lady requested ‘ Wouldn’t it be lovely ‘ from My Fair Lady. She said she had played Eliza Doolittle on stage in London a few times . Amazing 🎶🎤

Hi I visited a nursing home and I walked into the room where the residents were sitting / sleeping mostly . As I was setting up we sang He’s Got The Whole world in His hands and one of the ladies really began to clap and sing with vigour . It was a joy to see. The other participants also enjoyed the song . We had a great morning all together .

Hi The Christmas Party at Heighington went really well. I was dressed in my Santa Hat and we sang Christmas songs including It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas etc and Christmas Carols including Away In a Manger. The residents loved the singing and playing the musical instruments. Chloe was singing the songs so sweetly with me as well and this was a great help. One resident wanted to know what Sonnez les matines meant from Frere Jacques and the translation is ' Morning Bells are ringing'. We all had a brilliant time.
