Open auditions for our production of Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas take place in Lincoln tonight!

We will need a minimum of four men and four women in the cast. All eight actors will be required to play multiple roles and may be asked to sing! A good Welsh or Spanish accent will be needed for some parts too.

We will be performing Under Milk Wood from 22nd to 24th October 2026 at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby.

Everyone is welcome to audition, whether or not you're a member of Common Ground and even if you have little or no experience of the stage.

We were honoured to welcome not one but TWO mayors when we staged Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby last week!

To mark our 25th anniversary we invited the Mayor of Lincoln (where we're based) and the Mayor of Market Rasen (where we perform), and they both kindly attended performances last week.

Pictured with members of the cast backstage are the Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Bill Mara, the City Sheriff, Mr Gary Daley, the Mayor of Market Rasen, Councillor Jo Pilley, and her consort Mr Ken Pilley.

We really appreciate their visit and it seemed that they enjoyed the show!

If you'd like to audition, please prepare some selected scenes including different characters from the play using a relevant voice for, say, a child or an old lady or deep voiced man. You will also be asked to read off a text we choose so be prepared!

Scripts may be available on request.

We will be performing Under Milk Wood from 22nd to 24th October 2026 at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby.
