Following on from the first beer festival in 2015, a very low key event, the WSH Summer Beer & Music Festival has become a much anticipated annual event. Run by the Witham St Hughs VEC, a bunch of volunteers who love to put on events for the village and it's residents, it always promises to be a family favourite! Good morning 🌞

When taking down your gazebos, you will find bin bags tied up for you. Please place all rubbish inside them and place them in the skip next to the MUGA.

Just a reminder...

We are opening the field for you to put up your gazebo's up at 2.30 pm. You must be off the field at the latest 3.30 pm.

All sides must be off your gazebos and if you are planning to bring alcohol in with you, please bear in mind, we will be checking gazebos and anything not allowed will be confiscated, as this breaches the licencing laws and risks the event being shut down.

Please also note the below for the weekend:

Do's & Don'ts for the weekend
1. Bring your tickets, either printed or on your phone. These will be replaced with a wristband and a token which you can swap for 1x stack cup (adults only) at the token tent.
2. Feel free to bring gazebos, tents, chairs and tables etc. Tents/Gazebos with sides are only permitted around the edge so as not to block views.
3. Strictly no alcohol is to be brought onto or taken off the field – This is due to the licence we are given. Anyone caught will be removed.
4. All soft drinks brought onto site are to be sealed. No open bottles allowed.
5. Strictly no Glass to be brought onto the field
6. Bag searches will be in operation for everyone's security as well as ID checks.
7. There is strictly no overnight camping on the field. You will be moved by security.
8. Make sure you purchase drinks tokens from the token tent prior to queuing at the bar
9. Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on lead at all times.
10. Tokens are strictly non refundable
11. Please use the bags provided for collecting your litter and use the bins available.
12. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times. This includes ensuring they do not leave the festival site alone without permission.
13. Small picnics are allowed but no take aways.
14. Please be fire safety conscious when putting out ci******es. There is a heightened risk of field fire due to the hot, dry weather.
15. Most importantly, eat, drink and have a great weekend!

We are opening the field for you to put up your gazebo's up at 2.30 pm. You must be off the field at the latest 3.30 pm. We understand this won't be suitable for everyone, however we still have alot to do before we open at 5pm.

Setup day 2 complete!

Our small group of volunteers have been busy again today.

The bar is taking shape, the coolers are in place to make sure the beers are cold and the slushie machine has been installed.

Our team has taken the week off work to bring you this event and will be in the field all week. If you're passing by, feel free to say hi and have a look at the set up.

To maximise safety and security, the field will be fully closed off from 0700 on Wednesday 5 August until 1200 on Sunday 9 August.

This includes pedestrian access from the Southeast entrance through to the gate opposite Frontier Agriculture. Pedestrian access to Frontier and other businesses, including the gym, will be via Camp Road or by crossing the old football field to access the top path.

The path from the car park between the school and Market Lounge will still be accessible through to Squirrel Chase.
