Commuter Jazz – New Season 🎶

After a sizzling summer break, Commuter Jazz is back for another season of foot-tapping teatime creativity at Southside!

Our first batch of dates reflects the venue's events and bookings, so there are a few anomalies to be aware of:

4 September

9 October
30 October
13 November
20 November
4 December

We’re looking forward to welcoming our loyal audience back next week. Djanco will be providing the musical entertainment for our opening session.

Tomorrow's gig (26/6/26) is the last one of the current 25/26 season.

Funk In Deep Freeze will be encouraging your toes to tap from 5:15pm. Strutting your tail feather is most welcome too. FIDF are CJ favourites and this is a performance not to be missed!

The cooler climate of Southside Lincoln church auditorium will be a welcome relief from the extremely hot spell we are currently experiencing.

A gentle reminder that the fantastic Nadim Teimoori is appearing at CJ later today. This is a gig that you don’t want to miss.

Nadim is a rising star who has performed with many of the top UK jazz musicians. He leads his own groups and is an established composer winning many awards.

Spotlight on Tom Maddison (double bass) who is appearing tonight at Commuter Jazz with the Frank Birkbeck Quartet:

Since graduating from Leeds College of Music's renowned jazz course in 2013, Tom has gone on to perform with a plethora of artists across the UK and internationally. From jazz and electro-swing bands at UK festivals such as Boomtown and Bestival, to big bands and orchestras at venues as prestigious as the Royal Albert Hall, Thomas brings a wealth of hard earned experience to the stage. He also has a passion for writing and arranging music, and examples of his work can be heard by many RAF ensembles, including the famous 'Squadronaires.'
