One of my favourite tattoos I have ever done….no BS. This is a bit of me this for sure. Thank you .inkses for giving me free rein. I chose a humble small piece from my flash that I thought would look great for today’s task and approach.
The task…..tattoo a tattooist while being tattooed simultaneously. Was a challenge at times but got each other through it and learnt some things. Great experience and would recommend to other tattooists. A great way to share ideas, tips and tricks and check in on each other.
The approach….mag first method, no lining. I believe I first learnt of this approach from reading the re-inventing the tattoo years n years ago. Again would highly recommend and if go check out his education and all he has contributed to the art of tattooing. So yeh, it’s a technique that was believed to have first been noted in French tattooing way way before my time in the industry but still a great method today. I like it because it feels more natural and like painting with a brush. I used this method for all the edge work in black. I stippled and also packed some colour but will talk about that another time…..maybe
