Long Haired Music is a newly opened studio bringing professional quality analogue and digital recording to Lincolnshire's musicians. Engineer Rob Harrison has set up the studio in order to record and promote talent from outside Central London. “In rural areas musicians often have to travel to gig and record, we’d like to help them by creating an outlet for them to record and promote world wide.”
-Rob. Rob has worked for several studios in London for many years but mostly Fortress, where he worked with artists such as the Foals, the GO! Through independent publishing and rights sharing, LHM aims to give opportunities to the talents that may not otherwise be able to make proper recordings. Built in the style of older established studios the live room is huge and can be screened off into smaller sections, easily accommodating bands live or string sections and choirs. There is accommodation, including showers and kitchen facilities for 16 people in the attached bunkhouse, which makes recording easy and affordable for people who have to travel. The studio is also located in a central town location, with shops and a supermarket within easy walking distance. LHM has unique facilities for recording onto tape, the same format used by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones to name a few. The 1969 Scully tape machine is the pride of the studio, brought back from the dead by Rob's careful restoration, the machine was used to record classics such as 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Born To Be Wild' and used at studios such as Stax and artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Digital 24 I/O recording on industry standard Pro Tools is also offered, but trust me, once you try tape you won't go back. Everything just sounds lusher, warmer & better.
