This weekend marks 12 years since our very first production The Blue Room at Lincoln Drill.
Although we haven’t managed any post-pandemic productions, we have been getting out and seeing some fantastic local theatre recently.
The Asylum Players fabulous production of 1984, Fury Theatres brilliant Body and Soul, and last night, Split Infinitives stunning A Caravan named Desire.
So thrilled to not only see so much theatre still on but all written by local playwrights too.

We have some items that we no longer need and are unable to store.
- 6x Wooden cubes/ boxes. 2ft x2ft (previously used flexibly as staging/ scenery)

- a suitcase full of vintage uniforms
(There are 4 hats, shoes, shoulder tags, x2 overalls, white Drs style jacket, apron, x2 sailor type jackets and 3 white shirts still in packets. No damage just need a wash to get rid of storage smell.)

- various small props (not pictured, will add a separate post at a later date. Please ask if there’s something specific you need).

All of these are free for collection from LN2/ North Lincoln, if anyone can make use of them.

Was it really 4 years ago that we performed April in Paris by John Godber at The Blue Room! Between having a family and the pandemic that time has flown by but we both hope to be in something else in the not too distant and hopefully, at some point soon, put on another OBT show as it’s 10 years since we formed.

Last night we watched IN UMBRA EIUS IGNIS. A short film made in Lincoln, written and directed by the super talented Steve Gillard, starring Laura Turner, Ellie Pickering and Zeddi and Peter Came.
(Steve previously wrote and starred in our production Lighthouse Waltz and Ellie starred in Self Catering).
The film was absolutely brilliant and I can totally see why it has been shortlisted for major independent film awards. Still can’t believe it was only shot on a mobile phone!
Genuinely cannot wait to see what you do next! Super proud of you Steve & Team xx

Auditions for the next The Blue Room Lincoln productions

One week before we begin auditions for the shows!!! Not gonna lie, tiny bit excited. See if we can remember which end of the script the words come out of.
We've had absolutely LOADS of people wanting to get involved and we are working to contact everyone.
There's still plenty of time to get in touch though.

7 years ago Out of the Box performed The Audition by James Johnson at Lincoln Drill Hall.
It’s still one of my favourite OBT shows and one of my performances that I’m most proud of.
Just me and Grace for 90 minutes acting our socks off and we received such a lot of positive feedback too.
Still absolutely love these photos of the show by Holly Hardiman-Crust too.
