We have had a phenomenal response to our water safety sessions and we are committed to bringing the safety message to as many young people as possible prior to the summer holidays.

Today we had the BBC on site filming for a news report likely to air on Thursday… tomorrow morning we are on the BBC Radio Lincolnshire breakfast show around 7.10 am… it’s great to get the word out but please bear with us while we find available water time to fit these life saving sessions into our programme… keep an eye on our socials and website for details as session dates go ‘live’.

☀️ June SUP Yoga sessions are now open!
There’s no better way to welcome summer than practising yoga on a paddleboard, surrounded by calm water and big skies.

Our June classes focus on gentle flow, balance and deep relaxation — perfect if you’re trying SUP Yoga for the first time.

On behalf of 100% Swimming, Lincs ASA Open Water, Grantham SC, Louth Dolphins, Lincoln Vulcans and Skegness SC I would just like to say a big thank you to Activities Away.

These guys have gone out of their way on one of their busiest weekends to accommodate a training day for Lincolnshire Swim Clubs. In advance of the Open Water County Championships in two weeks time. Not something they had to do but yet again something they WANTED to do.

This is why activities away is LEADING THE WAY yet again. Supoorting swimming and young people in the region. Thank you to Steve, Sam and all staff on site who worked so hard to make this happen.

The first of our FREE water safety courses today for young people to learn about the hazards associated with open water and an unplanned immersion event.

Following a short class room presentation we took to the water to learn the importance of ‘float to live’ and to practice some live saving skills.

Cant wait to bring these essential skills sessions to more young people through out the summer.

Educating children to have a summer of fun… safely… and they all got a voucher to use in the summer holidays to come back and try some water sports.

As promised... we are taking a stand... to educate our young people on the hazards around open water and how to deal with an unplanned immersion event.

Its available to book now on our website at www.activitiesaway.uk

Click VIEW ACTIVITIES and you will see the WATER SAFETY AWARENESS session listed.

Add the number of spaces you want to the basket and check out - it's FREE and we encourage you to share it and encourage anyone with children to consider it.

The session is a mixture of a short classroom session with video support from the RNLI and a supervised 'in water' session for those that wish to fully participate and a bank side session for those that do not wish to get in the water.

Attendance and full participation in this educational event will earn any child attending a voucher for a ONE HOUR RENTAL for a Standup paddle board or Sit on Top Kayak to either use immediately or by the end of Summer 2026.

Book your kids on now and educate them on what to do if they or anyone with them enters water on an unplanned immersion event.

This time of night we normally push out our pictures post of people having a day of fun participating in activities at our lake in Lincoln.

Tonight... is different... we would like to extend our condolences to the family & friends of local lad Declan Sawyer who was involved in the incident yesterday at Swanholme Lakes in Lincoln.

Please, Please, Please, encourage any young people you know who wish to get into the water this summer to contact us and in return for watching a short video produced by the RNLI on water safety we will provide a voucher for a supervised water session.

We are running a scheduled water safety session for Lincolnshire County Council Youth Services later in the year as we do each year and access to this can be gained by speaking with your youth worker if attending the local youth centres.

Please take a minute to think of the family and friends at this difficult time and enjoy a picture of a dragon fly we took earlier at the lake.

DAY TWO of the sunniest BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND... EVER!

Nice to see so many of you today, for those that care about such things over 250 of you took to the clear, calm, cooling waters of ACTIVITIES AWAY for a swim on what was a HOT day!

Followed by over 100 of you joining us with your paddle boards, rentals and doggie dips in the afternoon.

We loved every minute of it and the cafe staff were delighted to spend all day delivering tasty treats for you.. they didn't moan once about the temperature in there...
.. they moaned multiple times lol

but we coped and sold out of many menu items but will be stocked up and ready for the food fight tomorrow!

Top tips

✅ Please make sure you have definitely completed the 2026 SUMMER SIGN UP FORM via the link on the home page at www.owswim.uk

✅ Please only turn up to swim if you are booked into a session - walking on and expecting to swim without a booking will not be possible.

✅ Please turn up on or after the time you are booked for, turning up early will not get you in the water any earlier… you will need to wait for your allocated session.

✅ Please remember that parking is at a premium! Please car share/cycle or walk where possible. If you do travel by car then remember parking on the road is possible, please respect our neighbours and park respectfully and not on the grass verges or roundabout.

CHILD SWIMS are available on the BOOKING APP now... either click through to the CALENDAR and book a CHILD SWIM SESSION on a PAY as YOU GO basis (they arrive and swim with you on your session).

OR

You can BUY A x10 CHILD SWIM TICKET which will discount the per swim price.

Either way, its a maximum of 2 children (persons under 16 years) per authorised adult in the water, all children (persons under 16 years) must be supervised in the water at a maximum ratio of 2 children per one authorised adult swimmer.

All children in the water must be with the authorised adult at all times. If you have a competitive child swimmer they must swim with an adult who is capable of keeping up with them, our risk management of children in the water requires them to be SUPERVISED at ALL TIMES... if you can't keep up with them.. find someone who can and 'authorise' them to swim with your child.

All children must be listed on the 2026 membership form of the authorised adult - staff can add this for you if the form has already been submitted.

Any other children (persons under 16 years) must be supervised off the water during swim sessions unless otherwise pre agreed with the duty manager... this must be done prior to attending for your swim. When we are busy, it is not possible to leave unsupervised children to 'wander around' during swim sessions.

We want your to have fun... safely and are happy to help facilitate families swimming together and children enjoying our lake and the facilities but we have to ensure our rules are followed for the benefit of everyone and the safety of participants.

You can always bring Granny or Granddad to supervise if the kids don't want to swim, we promise to keep an eye on the grand parents to make sure they don't wander off as well ;-)
