Wool is the Answer

Wool is the Answer Hand dyed yarn, patterns and inspiration You may ask why we have called our new venture Wool is the answer?

For us the answer is simple, as crafters of many things, there is no question to which wool is not the answer!

We are a new business based in Lincolnshire set up to sell good quality local sourced wool. We are gradually building up our own hand dyed range of yarn in 4 ply, all of which is hand dyed by us in Lincolnshire. We intend to add to our collection regularly and produce coordinating yarns

for use in various knitting projects.

We have carefully selected our first supplier, West Yorkshire Spinners, as we fell in love with their colour range and quality, and of course they are "reared, sheared and spun" in Great Britain.

At the moment we are starting off small with limited lines but hope to grow quickly with the help of you, our customers. Our aim is to source local good quality yarn to share with you all.

Our passion is for vibrant colours so we will try and incorporate this in our choice of products and suppliers as well as our dyeing palette.

The perfect way to spend a gloomy September Saturday 🍂

A cheesy autumnal Hallmark movie, Autumn at Apple Hill on the tv, whilst casting on a brand new project.

I’m starting the Holey Moley Cardigan by using our Sequin Fluff in Pale Forest paired with Berroco Remix Light in a similar shade.

Soft, sparkly and very autumnal, I think I’m going to enjoy making this.

Two cast offs for Marie!

First up, the Newcastle United socks made using the Simple Sock pattern by Stephen West in Jailbreak from All Wool That Ends Wool and our Ultra Blue.

Then there’s the Syltrose Breeze jumper by Dagmar.knits&more knitted in 4ply Tulips and Navy.

We’re just going to ignore the slight change in colour in the navy… 🤣🤣 Sometimes you just have to embrace the knitting adventure!

Two finished projects and already thinking about the next cast on!

Episode 303 is here!

We’re back after our holidays and have plenty of things to tell you about.

Marie has finished her Newcastle United socks for her brother and has also cast off her Syltrose Breeze jumper by Dagmar.knits&more She’s still working away on the Kala by Megan Nodecker although she’s already planning her next cast-on!

Dominique has finished two cowls, including one based on the Morton Cowl, and she’s still making her way through her Shipshape jumper by Heidi Kirrmaier | Knitting Patterns

There are also new cast ons for Dominique too! A Musselburgh hat and the Watermark Pullover by Marie Greene have joined the knitting queue.
Plus, we’re chatting about our holiday, purchases, what we’ve been knitting and everything in between.

Such a stunning sky tonight I had to go and take some pictures.

Not a bad view for a spot of sock knitting!
Determined to get these Newcastle United socks finished while I’m on holiday… although I’m not sure I could have found a better knitting spot!

Knitting with a view… I could definitely get used to this!
