Today was getting all set up Wicksteed Park ready for lots of people to come and do fun workshops ,this weekend
And then a quick change of clothes to set of to Lamport hall
To play the game of find the art , where is it hanging in the central exhibition , found two together and little tree evening light is in the stables ,
So wonderful to see all the artists in the gardens work together too ! Feel very privileged to have been part of the project , visiting all the historic houses . Just wonderful .

See how the light changes
How shadows of clouds can change everything
Come and explore working outside .
It’s about looking
It’s about breathing out , slowing down .
We have loads of space , so you could stand next to barns ,
Under the trees
Or sit on one of the benches and just sketch
You can bring materials that you may like to experiment with
I am providing paper , acrylic paints , canvas boards , pencils brushes and water pots .

The work is , well ready .
It’s labelled, wrapped up in protective layers bagged and ready to go .
The cards are bagged up and stickered .
So it’s time for some family time this bank holiday .
Peters pizzas because they make the best ones and Gaius’s request .
Waterstones because we are a family who loves the books .
Blue birds for Russian caravan tea
Music shops , damaged society for the house goth ,
And sostrene for the candles . (Which is leaving Notts very sad )
Just a day of bimmbling .
My book choices a history of printmaking and feral . And I’d like to know where have the chairs gone from the 4th floor? It’s fine I was very comfy on the floor in the art section .
Today’s activity life admin , a trip to the opticians yey .

In 11 days all the work from almost 300 artists will be up on the walls at the central exhibition , the walls be overflowing with variety , colour and beautiful works . There will be ceramics , sculpture, jewellery , paintings , printmaking , textiles photography , batik ,
There’s just soo much to enjoy .
But if you want to come and hang out with me , I’m also at Wicksteed park the first weekend in September with Glenda Gibson and Sandra Jenkins
Then I’m running two yes two drypoint workshops , which will be fun come and explore inky non toxic etching
12th September I’m running a Plein air session over at Hanging Houghton which is where Emma Saul has her studio , so come and see her beautiful ceramics and stunning paintings , and draw sketch paint the view over towards hall
Finishing the month with a pop up studio at The brewers yard .lamport hall
Don’t worry I know it’s a lot of information .
So let’s break it down
Come to the opening ceremony ,4th September 6pm 2026
Then
Wicksteed Saturday , Sunday 5th 6th all day

Then 26/27th September is brewers yard at Lamport hall .
Closing ceremony 3rd October.
Inbetween there’s stewarding and drawing in the grounds .

Such a rare day , a day in Leeds at Kofi , hanging out for Celeste;s 27th . Just the 6 of us . This hasn’t happened in years . I’d forgotten how loud they all are , over excited laughing joking , gently teasing each other , the in house family jokes . The pretend intellectual conversations .
The food was delicious . I had chargrilled peaches with rocket and Parma ham on soughdough with a hot honey drizzle . It was delicious .
Quick mooch around the street after meeting Celestes co workers . Then back to watch Hail Mary , Celeste’s new favourite film .
And home . Celeste Drouin-Davis Octavian
