V27 Jazzydays with .jacko

It always feels criminal posting audio over the absolute Grace’s phenomenal vocals! I do it for the static shots but seriously check out V27 highlights (will be uploaded later this week) to hear the absolute talent Grace is. She just really has nailed the art of performance, her energy, her vocals, her sets are just faultless and truly both mesmerising and inspiring to be a part of! With that in mind, there is very few names that land in my inbox or conversations time and time again but Grace is one of them, usually followed with compliments about how she is ‘one to watch’ and I couldn’t agree more! I cannot wait to see her take to London. London you are about to gain something very special!

This V sesh also reminded me how powerful lyrics are. Whenever I go and see a gig or live music performance, I personally really struggle to listen to lyrics properly, my brain distracted by conversations, commotion, the environment, you name it, but as I painted, I heard the words of songs so deeply. I followed the artists’ highs and lows and it registered to me that the human experience really is a shared experience. As I listened, I found myself resonating with the moments the songs encapsulated. It really reminded me how painting really helps me listen and how much there is to gain from tuning in to relatable experiences. It made me feel less alone in some of the mind battles I find myself in.

And then this week’s crew! What a delight it is to share a space with so many familiar faces, a growing community, a space where regular life updates are shared, lows are met with care, highs are celebrated and it creates a beautiful feeling of being known, belonging somewhere. So thank you V27 crew. Thank you 🦋Ell🌻 Sandy, Effie, Megan Rose Gemma Barnsdale Samantha Ward Joey Mackin for being the gentle caring community this week!

And if you missed Grace, I have managed to book her back in time for a Christmas special performance! Cannot wait! So keep your eyes out for that on the calendar 👀

V26 Taste with Somerby Vineyards

My oh my, I knew any collaboration with Becca Foster and Hannah Elizabeth was going to be phenomenal but V surprises me every week. What a V sesh! The buzz this week was so energising and uplifting and I felt those pinch me moments all over again!

I can never get over how much the time flies in a V sesh and sometimes I kick myself being caught up in all the excitement and whirlwind to come away feeling like I didn’t manage to soak it all in. That’s why taking the chance to reflect and create the event post is such a precious opportunity to relive the magic all over again and properly appreciate all the special moments. And boy’o’boy am I just beaming with gratitude reliving it!

So first huge thank you is to Somerby Vineyards, how incredible it was to taste locally produced wines! Harvested in Lincolnshire! Thank you Hannah for all your knowledge and generous servings! Each wine was truly a unique experience and I would thoroughly recommend you seeking out their Solaris and Rondo, if you haven’t already! The many bottles purchased at the V event is a tell tale sign they are something special!

And paired with the most delicious appetisers crafted by Chef Bex, I just cannot, the hits of basil and cheese and all other delicious flavours that I seriously need to pay more attention to because my goodness they were divine! What a tastebud treat and the perfect accompaniment to the wine tasters!

And thank you V26 crew! You were the atmosphere, the buzz and the energy. So thank you Matt D Wright Jo Denny Neil Denny lots Tessa Catherine Teresa Joey Mackin Temmy Samantha Ward Megan Rose Carolina you were a truly special crew!

And for anyone with a lil fomo, don’t worry, Somerby will be back in October again and I strongly recommend you follow them, so you can get involved with their harvest!

V26 Taste with Somerby Vineyard!

It’s actually happening! This V sesh has been has been long anticipated. I remember during the shop renovation, in the absolute chaos Hannah Elizabeth popping in and we dreamed about this wine tasting event and I can’t believe it is finally happening!

Somerby Vineyards are local wine producers who really are knowledge-rich and passionate for what they do. I cannot wait for you to hear what’s going on at the vineyard and taste the delights of the wines they produce.

Alongside the delicious wines to taste, there will also be some accompanying canapés, curated by Bio Chef Becca Foster which is just the perfect treat to make this V sesh a special one! And yes of course you’ll be painting all while you are served stories, canapés and glasses of Somerby wines!

Come a celebrate the this blessing of a summer at V. (Hoping outside!) and I cannot believe for the third week running spaces are already booked prior to the official event launch! Eeek! This one really is going to be a treat in more ways than one!

V25 Shapeshift!

This V sesh felt new. New faces booking on just to experience a V sesh! (Even if you were anticipating paint! Hehe) That really is so special to me and I am so so grateful!

I love how you guys just got it, you played and explored with the clay while having lovely conversations, a collection of people coming together and sharing life. Felt beautiful. There really isn’t something special about a table setting!

On another note, I’ve recently been captivated by the book, ‘Your Brain on Art’ and in it, it talks about how regular engagement with the arts has been associated with a lower risk of early death. In the book it shares a UK longitudinal study that found, over a 12-year period, adults who engaged with the arts once or twice a year had a 14% lower risk of dying, while those engaging every few months or more had a 31% lower risk. This feels important to share. This is what V is all about!

And to follow that, it always stays with me when people stay behind to chat and share their experience. A comment that really stayed with me from this V sesh was a lady who said, ‘I would have loved you to tell me what to do because I don’t think I am creative but because you didn’t, I had to just go with it and I loved it!’ That really is it! No goal, just engagement and that experience is so so powerful on engaging your prefrontal cortex, as it has to make decisions in this world that likes to make decisions for you!

So thank you V25 crew. Eliane, Lynn, Catherine Roberts Morgan Chandler Joey Mackin Temmy you were such a wholesome crew.
