The state of me when I'm back in my car after finishing an art session! 😅

The Caribbean scene recreated by the lovely residents in Boldmere.
Always a huge group there, tricky trying to juggle everyone's different needs but they never cease to amaze me at their concentration and efforts 👌

Delicate dandelions with a blue background 💙
The backdrop was done using different tones of blue, using a sweeping diagonal motion 🖌
The dandelion heads were done using a toothbrush to drag the white paint giving a softer edge, then patting the brush downwards to give the effect of pieces blowing away.
We ran over on time today and took an hour & a half, as the residents were so engrossed wanting to get the shapes and textures right.
Well done residents, I think they all worked hard and achieved some great artwork 👏 🌼

We were inspired by the heatwave today at the art session in the care home 🥵
Vibrant stripes of colour made the backdrop skies, a toothbrush brushed out the palms on the trees and the final flourish was the birds flying in the sky.
The residents were stumped on how to do the birds.
I said remember your school books when the teacher gave you a tick?
✔️✔️✔️
Every days a school day! 🤣

The final photo is one particular resident who is making her own gallery in her room, having a macular degenerative eye disease she is unable to see clearly, so is always amazed at what she manages to produce.
So proud of her and the fulfillment she gets from doing the art sessions 🥹🎨

This post is particularly heartwarming for me 🥹
This lady attended one of my "Sip & Paint" sessions as a complete novice.
She had fancied a very large bee painting in her home for a while, but had struggled finding anything in the shops quite right.
However after doing the painting with me, she had the courage to give it a go herself! 😲
She did a similar technique to the one we used, layering paint and starting with the background first, then the flowers, then the bee, the wings, the tiny dots.
What an achievement!! 👏
Guided painting can give confidence, boost moral, be fun, social and give an immense sense of satisfaction 🐝
I'm absolutely thrilled she had the courage to "give it a go"
Well done, what a fantastic result x

Another lovely art session with the residents in Sutton Coldfield today.
They enjoyed layering the paints to make the final scene.
The toothbrush splatters for the stars was a favourite once again! 🤣🌟
