👀 Yes... it really is called the "Boobie" Chair Cushion!

If you've ever walked past The Fabric Vault, you may already have met its bigger sister... our giant "Boobie" Bench Cushion sitting proudly outside the shop! 😄

It always makes people smile, starts conversations and usually leads to someone asking...

"How on earth did you make that?"

Well... now you can find out!

The "Boobie" Chair Cushion gets its name from its wonderfully soft, raised quilted puffs (also known as a Puff Quilt or Biscuit Quilt). It creates a beautifully cosy cushion that's perfect for a favourite chair, bench or reading corner.

This is one of those projects that's just as enjoyable to make as it is to use. Watching each little puff come to life is surprisingly addictive, and before you know it you'll have a cushion that's completely unique and guaranteed to make everyone ask where you bought it.

During the course you'll learn how to:
🧵 Cut and prepare your fabric
🧵 Create and join the puff sections
🧵 Stuff each section for that wonderfully soft texture
🧵 Finish your cushion with backing and binding

Best of all, you can make your cushion to fit your own chair or bench, so it's completely personal to you.

Sometimes, a handmade quilt is much more than just a quilt. ❤️

At our regular Project Linus sessions, every stitch helps create something that will bring comfort to a child going through a difficult time.

Whether they're in hospital, living through challenging circumstances or simply in need of a little extra comfort, each quilt is made with kindness, care and the hope that it will bring a smile when it's needed most.

You don't need to be an experienced quilter to join us. If you can sew, cut fabric, press seams or simply enjoy spending time with friendly people while helping a wonderful cause, we'd love to welcome you.

Our Project Linus sessions are completely free to attend, and whether you stay for half day or the whole day, every pair of hands makes a difference.

It's also a lovely opportunity to meet fellow sewists, pick up new ideas and spend a few relaxing hours knowing that your time is helping someone else.

We just have to say this.....

Nothing sewing or fabrics related....

But, we have to tell you how immensely proud parents we are 😊 After long few months of waiting, our boys collected their GCSE results today. They both did absolutely unbelievably well!!!!

Austin got accepted straight into Bishop Vesey's Sixth Form this morning, when he collected his results.

Kevin had to wait until 3:45pm for the phone call (believe us, the waiting this afternoon felt like every minute is lasting hours, will they call? Will they not? Will he get in? Will he not?) But then the phone rang!!!! And he also got into Bishop Vesey's Sixth Form.

We are SOOOOO PROUD!!! Both boys are in the sixth form of their dream and new chapters are starting for them.

We hope that your children, grandchildren or family members got their results today and are as happy and proud as we all are here.

Do curved patchwork blocks make you nervous? 😊

If we're honest, most of us have looked at a beautiful Double Wedding Ring quilt or a Drunkard's Path block and thought...

"I could never sew that!"

The truth is, sewing curves isn't nearly as scary as it looks. Once someone shows you the right techniques, everything starts to click into place.

That's exactly what Kim's Learn to Sew Curves workshop is all about.

Over two relaxed sessions, you'll learn how to sew smooth, accurate curves while practising some of patchwork's most iconic designs, including Drunkard's Path, Jacob's Coat and an introduction to Double Wedding Ring. You'll also explore free-form curved piecing and pick up lots of tips and tricks to improve your confidence along the way.

This isn't about rushing to finish a project. It's about learning a skill that opens the door to so many beautiful quilts you've perhaps admired for years.

Even better, once you've mastered curved piecing, you'll be ready to take the next step with Kim's beautiful Christmas Tree Wall Hanging workshop, where you'll put your new skills into practice.
