The Alt Shift is teaming up with Theaardvark for a special collaborative show on Lichfield Radio & Echo!

Alt Shift's Jess will be joining Paul for a fun post-festival debrief following an incredible weekend at Bearded Theory Festival. We'll be chatting about some of the amazing artists we caught up with, sharing stories from behind the scenes, and revisiting some of our favourite moments from the festival.

Featuring interview highlights with:

🎸 MORE BEARDED THEORY POSTS.....SORRY NOT SORRY 🤘🏻

After having to cancel parts of their tour — including Coachella — due to Phoebe sustaining a head and neck injury, we were absolutely THRILLED that the Lambrini Girls could still make it to the Pallett Stage on Thursday May 21st. And let us tell you... they did NOT hold back. 🤘

The Brighton-based noise-punk duo — Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez — brought their ferocious, chaotic, politically charged energy to that stage. If you’ve never heard them before, imagine noise-punk colliding with garage rock and Riot Grrrl attitude... turned up to eleven and then some. 🔊

And maybe make sure the kids are out of earshot before you hit play — this one is not for the faint hearted or easily offended! 😂🙉)

We are so thrilled to see the Lambrini Girls back on stage where they belong, and we’re sending Phoebe all the love and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery 💙🤘

The punk scene needs you fighting fit!

Now... we did just about mange to play one their tracks on the Alt Shift. 😅 Let’s just say we chose very carefully ... the titles alone tell you everything you need to know. 😂

Jess didn’t quite get her interview — Phoebe is still recovering— but she DID come home with a signed vinyl and a massive grin. We’ll take it. 🖤

Hope you've all had a brilliant weekend! 🙌

This time last week Jess was deep in the heart of the Bearded Theory festival — and what a time it was! Thought we'd share the playlist from our Bearded Theory Special Request Show (May 20th) 🗓️

We asked for song requests from artists playing this year's festival… and it was SO hard to choose — we could have filled dozens of shows 🤯

The requests were absolutely awesome and lots came in from the Bearded Theory [2027] festival group!

🎶 HAPPY FRIDAY ALL 🎶

Another shout out from our amazing experience at Bearded Theory Festival! 🤘

Today’s shout out goes to a band that I not only absolutely loved watching live, but also had the great pleasure of chatting to after their set alongside Theaardvark from Lichfield Radio & Echo. 🦡🎤

If I wasn’t a big fan before, it would’ve been impossible not to become an even bigger one after meeting them. What an incredible bunch of human beings ❤️

🔥 Ferocious Dog 🔥 played an absolutely AWESOME set. The crowd went wild! Their fanbase — affectionately known as the Hell Hounds — brought so much energy and passion! It seemed like the audience was fully engaged from start to finish.

There was also an emotional edge to the performance, knowing the band are heading into their FINAL TOUR. Despite being hugely loved and having such a dedicated following, this autumn they’ll be touring for the very last time… so make sure you grab tickets while you still can. You do not want to regret not seeing these guys live!

For anyone unfamiliar, Ferocious Dog are a renowned UK folk-punk band from Warsop, Nottinghamshire — blending traditional Celtic folk sounds (including fiddle) with fierce, politically charged punk rock energy ⚡🍀🎻

I’ll be chatting with Paul the Aardvark next Tuesday at 3pm on his Lichfield Radio show about our interview with Ferocious dog and our Bearded Theory experience! Plus some of the other amazing bands we loved over the weekend — so please tune in! 📻

Last weekend was MAGIC. 🌞✨

And sorry-not-sorry… I *will* be talking about it for a while yet, sharing some favourite moments and brand-new music discoveries along the way...

Bearded Theory Festival delivered everything I love about live music — brilliant bands, glorious sunshine, and an atmosphere that’s almost impossible to replicate. 💛

Of course, seeing bands you’ve loved for years play your favourite songs is incredible… but discovering a new band to LOVE? THAT is festival magic.

Which brings me to Black Water County 🎸🪕🥁

I first heard them through our Bearded Theory Request Show on Alt Shift, and from that moment I couldn’t wait to see them live. Folk-punk from the South West, formed in Dorset on St Patrick’s Day 2013, they somehow blend full-throttle pop-punk guitars and pounding drums with banjo, mandolin *and* tin whistle. Yes, really... and it’s awesome.

Their set was pure, chaotic, unfiltered joy. The crowd was bouncing, I was bouncing… I’m fairly sure I clocked up 10k steps during their set alone. 🤸😂

And the icing on the cake... Paul the Aardvark and I got the chance to sit down and interview them before they played! 🖤

That interview will be heading your way soon on … who knows... maybe we should try to get them in for a live session too 👀 What do you think?
