🦊Another great week ahead at Fox Lane Sports & Social Club, lots to enjoy for all the family. PLEASE TRY & SUPPORT the live final event from Friends of Folk on Thursday 2nd September tickets at the door open from 7pm in the Function Room with artists Chris & Siobhan. All other dates for Friends of Folk this year have had to be cancelled due to the sudden ill health of Jim Minall who has supported the group voluntarily for many years - All at Fox Lane wish Jim and Jean well.

As well as their own performances at folk clubs, festivals and concerts around the country, in recent years they have supported Peter Knight’s Gigspanner, Steve Tilston and Chris Leslie and appeared as a ‘double bill’ with Ken Nicol. Firm favourites of Friends of Folk they will be joined for this gig by Len Pentin the writer of the much acclaimed ‘Cork Jackets & Drill’ which remembers the 1886 Southport lifeboat disaster.
In Chris and Siobhan’s music you will find songs to make you smile and songs that will bring a tear to your eye – and often a fiddle tune or two for good measure.

Sixteen years and out!

Hello Friends

This is a difficult message/post to write on behalf of my husband Jim (Friends of Folk). Due to his sudden diagnosis of a brain tumour planning for gigs has gone a bit haywire. The final Friends of Folk gig at Fox Lane will be Chris and Siobhan Nelson and friends on 2 September. As well as tickets already purchased, more will be available on the door and can also be bought prior to the gig from the bar at Fox Lane Social Club. Refunds for cancelled Folk at Fox Lane gigs will be made as soon as practicable.

All the gigs planned at The Atkinson at Southport are still going ahead with tickets available from the box office at www.theatkinson.co.uk or call 01704 533333.

The last 16 years have been great fun, if a bit fraught at times, and we hope they have brought as much enjoyment to you as they have to Jim and me. It would be lovely to see as many of you who can make it on 2 September at Fox Lane.

There are still a few tickets remaining for the concert at The Old School in Croston. The audience will be limited to 50% of the normal capacity and it promises to be an excellent evening with a tremendously talented singer/songwriter.

It has been a long time since the last Friends of Folk gig back in February 2020 and it will be great to have live music back again in 10 days time. After this long break I have a full programme of gigs planned through to December 2022 and there will be more dates to come.
