Jo Burton is our second guest artist, a painter who transforms the emotion and beauty of her surroundings into expressive impressions on canvas. Her work is often inspired by journeys —both physical and emotional — with paths leading into the distance, walks through trees, and strong, powerful landscapes recurring throughout her paintings.
Working predominantly in acrylic on canvas, Jo values the medium for the flexibility and depth it offers, allowing her to explore themes and capture not only what she sees, but also what she feels. She is passionate about sharing her work with a wider audience and invites viewers to join her on this voyage of discovery.
Themes often develop across a series of paintings as Jo seeks to capture the beauty of a subject from different perspectives. Dreams and landscapes intertwine throughout her work, creating evocative compositions that blend reality with imagination in a style of gentle, light surrealism.
