Lose inches and gain a shapely, toned body. Often described as a cross between ballet, yoga and pilates. These exeercises were devised by the world famous contemporary dancer, Lotte Berk. Set to music, muscles are strengthened and shaped by small sustained movements and then stretched out to achieve:

Stamina

When doing LotteBerk, we work all the muscles of the body, and isolate the part we are working so it/they get the full attention of that part of the workout. Thighs are so important, and we loose muscle strength and tone quite quickly if we don't pay attention to them, particularly as we become older. This exercise, as in the video previously, is perfect for the thighs....and although it is tough, especially at the beginning, it is so beneficial, and also fabulous for protecting the knees! You may even grow to love it!! 💃🏻

Stretching after each exercise keeps the body toned, and so important as in LotteBerk we don't want to build up the muscles, we just want them strong. So paying attention when stretching really helps to keep the LotteBerk body!!

How much do you value your legs....?
Working the legs like this, which is a relatively simple movement, starting with them really stretched and keeping them stretched, pulling up the muscles of the front thighs, then coming right up on the balls of the feet, repeating the down up movement until you feel the calfs burning, and I mean really burning! helps to tone and strengthen the whole leg including the ankles. It works better from a hight like the block I am using.
It is then important to stretch the legs out so that the muscles don't become tight and bulky, but long and lean.

Although I can hear the groans now!!! This pose is so fabulous, as it strengthens and tones the stomach, legs and bottom...

I have been attending Lotte Berk classes for the past 10 years! It is the only form of exercise that I have ever stuck with, and I love it!

I find the exercise routines are superb for toning, defining & strengthening my body – giving me a flatter stomach, toned arms and legs, and raising my bottom a few inches – putting it back to where it should be! It`s made me much more body confident. The core strength I gained from my classes made for a far speedier bounce back from an operation last year. And the stretching & postural exercises have eradicated lower back pain I had previously put up with as part of being a 6 footer who spends a lot of time driving around the country or hunched over a desk. And as an added bonus I have made some lovely friends. If I have had a bad working week classes always put a smile back on my face, and ease my stress levels.
