We're now in the final week of Festival 2026!

This year the Festival opened with our first ever staging of Puccini's Tosca, so it seems fitting that Tosca will also close the season this Sunday.

In this clip, the iconic 'Vissi d'arte' is performed by Caitlin Gotimer as Tosca and the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Robin Ticciati.

Where it all began... the Glyndebourne Organ Room, then and now!

Built in 1920 by John Christie, the Organ Room was a dedicated space for musical performances, hosting numerous world-class musicians for rehearsals and recitals in its early years. Notably, Glyndebourne’s co-founder, Audrey Mildmay, first met Christie in this very room in December 1930 while performing with the Carl Rosa Opera Company.

It was from these early recitals that Glyndebourne truly began. As performances soon outgrew the Organ Room, the need for a larger venue led to the opening of the first Glyndebourne auditorium in 1934.

Today, audiences can explore the Organ Room as part of their visit to Glyndebourne. Make sure to look out for the secret door that used to open right into the original opera house!
