Our staff and students had a fabulous time watching the Eclipse yesterday (with huge thanks to one of our parents for kindly providing everyone with our special glasses!).

✨ Pro Corda Spotlight:
Annabelle Thwaite

is an internationally acclaimed pianist and one of the UK’s most versatile chamber musicians, performing regularly across the world as both a soloist and collaborator.

Throughout her career, she has appeared in major concert halls internationally and worked alongside artists including Sir Bryn Terfel and Roberto Alagna, as well as performing chamber music at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Annabel is the Course Director for our ‘Prep & Primary’ Course at Pro Corda, helping guide young musicians through their first experiences of chamber music, ensemble playing and collaborative performance.

Her warmth, musicianship and passion for music education make her an inspiring part of the Pro Corda community, and we are delighted to have her leading our students at these critical early stages, nurturing their discovery of the joy of small ensemble playing.

Heath Quartet

We’re delighted to welcome the acclaimed Heath Quartet to Pro Corda this July for an evening of extraordinary chamber music.
Known for their dynamic, emotionally rich performances and praised internationally for the warmth and precision of their sound, the quartet will perform works by Britten, Mozart, Suk and Schumann in what promises to be a truly special live performance in our intimate historic setting.

Alongside their celebrated international career, the Heath Quartet are deeply committed to music education and supporting the next generation of musicians, something that sits very close to the heart of Pro Corda.

Whether you’re a long-time chamber music lover or looking to experience something new and beautiful in a relaxed environment, we’d love to see you there!

It’s a busy few months ahead at Leiston Abbey with lots of exciting concerts and courses on the horizon.

April 17th 7.30pm - Victor Lim performs his solo recital “Laughing and Crying” Featuring music by Sibelius, Schumann, Firkin and Mompou.

May 24th 11am - Pizza and Pizzicato Family Concert w/ Annabel Thwaite and Matthew Jones.

June 26th - Piano Sanctuary weekend with Annabel Thwaite and Gretel Dowdeswell

July 10th 7.30pm - The Heath Quartet perform and the first Chamber Music Weekend takes place.

July 26th - Summer Courses kick off with our Prep/Primary course (limited places remain!)
