A game where innocence and loss thereof makes for an enthralling experience

Platinum Games may have finally found it's self in a well deserved safe place finally in regards to future projects for it's company for the on going future. The company may have had it's upside downs the past few years.. seemingly always a game away from closure from what I'd read. Despite the well known action games the company is known for many of the companies games has started to filtered with licensed lower budgets games turned out in smaller amounts of time to supplement the bigger games that they were trying to churn out. a solid game that’s great, but not Platinum’s best, but for the gamer adults that do not mind an anime aesthetic there is a lot to enjoy about Astral Chain!

Talking Games: Anthem - 2 Months in.. yes I'm still playing it!

I wanted to return to Anthem, which I admit I never expected to still be playing at this point. I do have a love for Sci Fi MMOs… and Phantasy Star Online 2 cant get here soon enough. However…

Gaming with a 3 Year Old: Lost Winds
A game I worked on a little and one I'd been waiting to let me kids play for ages!

Like many games we’ve played, our time with Lost Winds was short, but so is the game in general and has a refreshingly small price point to match. It managed to leave a lasting memory because…

Nope.. before you think it I did not give my 3 year old a Switch with Super Mario Odyssey and expect moon collection on mass. Circumstances sometimes present opportunities to try things unexpectedly and this was one of those occasions, as opposed to when I talked about introducing him to LocoRoco. Setting the scene; an expected hospital trip for my partner in the late evening when child cover was impossible lead to a very ratty boy who desperately needed a distraction sitting at a bed side, I'd just finished my work commute not long before hand and still had my switch with me so to try and make a distraction for a little I opened it up let the little boy make his choice... Considering this blog is mostly dedicated to the trials and tribulations of gaming with my kids. It'd be a lost opportunity to not expand upon that on those occasions when it's been the older adults that have been the ones brought into the gaming world. Now I've mentioned before that my partner isn't the biggest fan of gaming, occasionally even she would find something she enjoyed. [ 933 more words ]

Thankfully this is a question I don't get asked as much as I used to, however it's still a very common question to get asked when meeting new people and discussing jobs, students and even young children (or parents on behalf of their children). I do wonder if the air of mystery when it comes to the games industry is something that has truly broken over the last decade, or its just from working as a part of if I'm not in touch with an outsider's perspective any more, but to answer the question I wanted to talk about how I got started and how today (and even back then) it wasn't the only way but with the advent of so many gaming based courses in universities it's important that as many people as possible know the options. It’s perfectly possible however to get into the games industry without having any formal education in any particular area. While I believe that should be fairly common knowledge it never seem…

Gaming with A 3 Year Old - Beginnings:
The daunting task of introducing games to my first child

I guess this is when gaming with a 3 year old actually started in truth, searching simple games that would hold a child’s attention or games that we could equally play in a collabarative capa…

Talking: Child Of Light
My first try at this.. so let me know what you think :)

It’s simple and fairly short for an RPG, but it’s also enjoyable and will stay in your memory for a colour cast of characters, a beautiful world and a nice tale of growth that’s u…

I'm trying something new, after years of no longer making reviews on youtube I missed a creative outlet so I've decided to just talk about the games I've played, what I'm making myself and general experiences in the games industry... read it if you like

Why am i here?… That’s the question I ask, and have asked myself over the course of quite a few years now; not in a life of earth is limited kind of way but here, on ablog typing things…
