LRDFestival is an annual competition to showcase the talents of amateur dramatic groups from the Lei

LRDfestival is an annual competition to showcase the talents of amateur dramatic groups from the Leicestershire & Rutland area. We invite all local groups to enter a ‘One Act Play’ to the festival and these are showcased to the public over the course of several nights, culminating in a results and awards ceremony on the final night. The event also doubles up as a preliminary round of the AETF (All-England Theatre Festival) for those groups seeking to progress further.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Drama Festival Committee are very sad to learn that Roger Cunnington died yesterday morning following a short illness.

Many of you may know Roger. He was a well known figure in the amateur theatre world, he came to many of our festivals and was apart of the AETF for many years.

Following the governments guidance over the last few days, the little theatre has decided to close IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

Which means we will be CANCELLING this years festival.

We sincerely apologise to all who have entered or booked tickets... please bare with us... updates will follow in the coming days...

LRDF would like to say a huge congratulations to our participating groups Leicester Drama Society and Market Harborough Drama Society, for achieving 1st and 2nd place respectively at the All-England Theatre Festival semi-finals last night 😘

Leicester Drama Society has now secured a place in the AETF English Finals in Maidenhead, 8th June 2019.

A huge well done, keep flying the flag for Leicestershire - we’re all behind you and know you can do it! ⭐️
