Whetstone Drama Group Whetstone Theatre Company Ltd is one of the most successful amateur dramatic groups within the East Midlands and have been performing for 64 years. Thank you!

Whetstone Theatre wish to thank our faithful audiences for the continued support. Whetstone Drama Group is one of the most successful amateur dramatics group within Leicestershire and Rutland. In 2012 our group celebrated 50 glorious years, during which time it has gone from strength to strength. The current group is the largest it has ever been and enjoys audiences that most drama groups can only

dream about. Within our group we have a thriving Senior Group, a youth group which at present is split between younger and older children, plus a Murder Mystery Group which raises much money for local charities. Whetstone Drama Group have won many awards over the years within The Leicestershire and Rutland Full Length Play Festival. These include many 'Best Plays', ‘Best Producers', several 'Best Actors’ and ‘Best Actresses' or ‘Supporting Actors’ and ‘Supporting Actresses' as well as other categories such as 'Best Set', 'Best Teamwork' & ‘Best Programmes’.

9 to 5 The Musical is a high-energy, feel-good comedy inspired by the iconic 1980 film, featuring an original score by country music legend Dolly Parton.

Set in a 1970s office, it follows three working women: Violet, Doralee, and Judy who are fed up with their sexist, egotistical boss. Together they hatch a daring plan to turn the tables, take control of the company and prove there’s nothing they can’t do.
Packed with heart, humour and empowering tunes, this uplifting musical is a celebration of friendship, justice and standing up for what’s right!

💀A Murder Is Announced 💀
By Agatha Christie and Produced by Sandra Sutcliffe.

A Murder is Announced is a classic Agatha Christie whodunnit adapted for the stage by Leslie Darbon.

When a local newspaper publishes an advertisement warning of a murder at a boarding house at 6:30 PM, curious villagers gather for what they assume is a game. When the lights go out and shots are fired, the real investigation begins.
