“Vive Le Punk”, is a fascinating documentation of our first exhibition at the Horse Hospital in February 1993. The film features Vivienne Westwood & Malcolm McLaren talking exclusively about their ground-breaking designs, Kings Road shops and extraordinary collaboration together throughout the 1970s. The film is a valuable insight for any student of fashion into how the couple broke all the rules of convention and inspired a generation.

Leicester Centre for Creative Writing invites you to remember the first thrill of discovering work published outside the ‘mainstream’. This interactive session is an opportunity to share passionate epiphanies celebrating the alternative world of independent publishing and ‘small presses.’ What excited you most? An author you’d never heard of? A cover, or book design, that screamed ‘read me’? The recent climate has been tough for these publishers: join us to help celebrate what they do. Bring anecdotes and books to share!

Serendipity - Institute for Black Arts and Heritage introduce their National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Unearthed: Forgotten Histories. This launch event offers an opportunity to hear more about the programme and the strategies surrounding mapping a Black presence in the Midlands, by maintaining living archives and collecting oral histories. This roundtable discussion will open up dialogue with the sector of the importance preserving, curating, and accessing these forgotten histories. This exchange of ideas channelled through the ThinkTank will be hosted by Pawlet Brookes and Mistura Allison.
