We can't quite believe we are writing this, but suddenly the curtain feels a little heavier 💗

We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of the incomparable Dolly Parton — songwriter, storyteller, trailblazer, philanthropist and a woman whose extraordinary warmth, wit and spirit touched generations.

For us at Leek Theatre Company, this moment feels particularly poignant as we begin our journey towards staging 9 to 5: The Musical — a show bursting with Dolly’s music, humour, heart and unmistakable belief in people finding the courage to stand tall, support one another and make a change.

We had imagined the months ahead as a celebration of her work. They still will be — but now they will mean something more.

Every rehearsal, every harmony, every laugh and, eventually, every moment beneath the lights will carry a little extra love and gratitude for the remarkable woman who gave this story its voice.

Dolly showed the world that you could be glamorous and grounded, hilarious and wise, ambitious and generous — and that kindness was never a weakness.

What a legacy. What a life. What a way to make a living. 💗

As we clock in on our own *9 to 5* journey, we’ll be doing it with Dolly very firmly in our hearts.

✨ Thank you for the music, the laughter, the courage and the dreams, Dolly.

We’re already well underway with our October production of The Hound of the Baskervilles 🐺🔎 — but here at Leek Theatre Company, we’re never ones to sit still for long!

Funny, feisty, uplifting and packed with fabulous music, 9 to 5 is an empowering story about friendship, standing up for yourself and three women who decide they’ve had ENOUGH! 💪✨

And who better to bring this fantastic show to life than Director Matt and Musical Director Lucy, who are already getting ready to make this production one to remember! 🎭🎶

And now we’re looking for YOU! 🌟

The game is afoot, and strange occurrences are already unfolding... 🔎🌫️

Our cast have been hard at work bringing this classic mystery to life, setting their scenes before taking a well-earned summer break.

🎭 The curtain is rising… rehearsals are already underway! 🎭

We’re thrilled to announce that preparations have begun for our October production of ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’ - and we thought it was time to introduce you to the fantastic cast bringing this thrilling mystery to life 🐾🔎

The play is directed by Judy Herbert, assisted by Anthony Davies.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and rehearsal glimpses as we get closer to opening night!

☀️ What a truly glorious day we had yesterday at our Summer Social! ☀️

There was plenty of delicious food, refreshing drinks, glorious sunshine, and, most importantly, lots of laughter shared with wonderful company.

Days like these are a lovely reminder that Leek Theatre Company is about so much more than what happens on stage. It's about friendship, community, and making memories together.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special day. Here's to many more moments like this! 💙🎭
