Hello

A little update from us. Some of you may have started receiving messages from theatres about changes to our upcoming performances. We're really sorry to be disappointing you again, but we've decided it's time for Crooners to take a proper break.

Our main man Roman is getting stronger and better all the time, but as we've discovered over these past few months, recovery takes time. He's absolutely chomping at the bit to get back on stage, but we don't want to rush things. We want to give him all the time he needs to get back to full strength.

And you can be sure this ain't the last you've seen of the Crooners! Roman is turning his attention to writing a brand new version of Crooners to come back with a BANG!!

We also want to say a massive THANK YOU. For all the lovely messages, kindness and support you've shown Roman and the rest of us throughout his illness. It's meant an enormous amount. But also for the many years you've supported this daft little show of ours. We've had some incredible times together, and we're so grateful to everyone who's bought a ticket, brought a friend, laughed at our terrible jokes or sung along with us.

For those holding tickets to affected performances, the theatres will be in touch directly about refunds or changes to your bookings. These theatre dates are often booked over a year in advance and we have been trying to manage this situation the best we could.

So that's where we are. We're taking a little time away, getting Roman back to full strength and working on the next chapter.

An update from us. 🙏🏻❤️

An update from us, and a huge thank you.

Over the past few weeks, the support shown to Roman and his family has honestly been overwhelming. From donations and shares, to messages, commissions, and kind words, it has meant far more than we can properly put into words.

So far, the fundraiser has raised an incredible £5,835. Just incredible.

This support has made a genuine difference and will help give Roman and his family some breathing space while he focuses fully on treatment and recovery.

Roman starts radiotherapy and chemotherapy on Monday, beginning six weeks of intensive treatment. It’s going to be a tough period, but he’s approaching it with real strength and determination.

For now, the focus is simple. Get through treatment. Recover well. Get him back on stage doing what he was born to do.

We’ll keep the fundraiser open until Monday for anybody who may still wish to contribute before treatment begins.

Thank you again for rallying around one of our own. The kindness shown by this community has been incredible to see.

People are just brilliant aren’t they!! Really blown away by your support for Roman. The man has thrown himself around on stages for years and been an all round top fella, and his just-deserts is this community of fans, admirers, colleagues, musicians, friends and just generally good people.

A little update. Roman is under the knife today for further tests to properly diagnose and finalise his treatment plan. He’s tackling today with his usual humour and real strength.

It’s going to be a tough few weeks.

A quick update from us…

Many of you will know Roman as the voice, the charm, and the mischief behind Crooners.

We wanted to share a brief update. Roman has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer and is now undergoing further tests as his treatment plan is put in place. The positive news is that things are moving quickly, and he is in good spirits.

For now, he’ll be stepping away from performing to focus fully on treatment and recovery. We’re very much looking forward to having him back on stage where he belongs.

As a self-employed performer, Roman makes his living through singing, from Crooners, weddings, events, and other live work. This period away from performing will therefore have a direct and immediate impact on his income.

For those who wanted to support him during this time, we wanted to open up two simple ways:

🎨 Pet Portrait Commissions
While he’s away from the stage, Roman will be taking on a small number of hand-drawn pet portrait commissions.
His work is highly detailed and usually privately commissioned, so this is a chance to support him directly while he focuses on recovery.
